i was just wondering if you tend to keep information and pictures etc on all the horses that come from your stud. i would like to find out more information about my mare's dam and was considering contacting the stud that bred the dam. i just wondered what everyone thought whether this is worth a try or not would appreciate any comments

Well they don't do much passing through here, but I do know all I've bred, most on my website anyway in the archive section. Definitely worth a try.
What sort of horse? I have the old Sport Horse Annuals published for a few years by BHD prior to NED if those would be any help - they had details of affiliated points in D, SJ and BE.

I would definately contact the breeder, they will probably be delighted to hear how your horse is getting on, I know I am when owners get in touch with me.

Well I could find you the pedigree of that one but I expect you already have it on your mare's passport.

Hi doodaa, If you look on the welsh pony and cob website under judges her breeder is on. Mr Jones look for his stud Esceifiog, phone number will be there. He judged at one of our shows and is very approachable

We keep all records of every foal we have bred during the last four decades, copying and filing Reg. papers, passports etc when they are sold. We have pics of all our homebred stock and their sires and dams. Pedigrees are recorded on the Internet on allbreedpedigree query, so anyone purchasing a Sunray bred foal/horse can study a detailed pedigree along with photos of ancestors With regard to Mares visiting our stallions, we keep a detailed record of the mare, how she reacted to the stallion, being covered, any problems and vet visits and examinations When mare leaves stud.....we photocopy her stud record and give to owner. This info can be very useful, both to the Mare owner and stallion owners if and when she visits another stud in the future As we use a stud breed prefix.......we can then keep track of our homebred stock and their performances and successes which is valuable info when reviewing our breeding programme Over the years, we have bred six stallions and are currently into our fifth generation of our homebred bloodlines Records are a really important requirement of any serious breeder. Unfortunately not all breeders keep recorded info Babs www.SunrayAngloArabianStud.co.uk

I would definately speak to the breeders. I love to hear how any horse I've bred has got on and what's happened to them. We keep records and pictures of everything including CD's of baby pictures from being born to when they leave us..

You can contact Esgeifiog Stud on 01248 421 398, they are just down the road from me.
We love hearing about any offspring we have bred and certainly keep records and pictures of all.
