Are these any different to a normal pelham apart from having shorter shanks?

The curb rein attaches to a fixed ring as apposed to being seperate and loose, as all the others are! Hope this helps

One of my ponies goes super in a hanging cheek snaffle and when he moved up to a pelham he wore a butterfly as it is exactly the same action as the hanging cheek, just with 2 reins to look more grown up.

The butterfly pelham is milder as the rings are very close together so there is less leverage action. We use them as my daughters are still First Ridden jockeys but like to do Small Breeds classes aswell. Our ponies go well in them.

That's excellent thanks!
I'm thinking about using one on our little pony for open classes (mainly because the shanks are short enough for him) but the fact it is quite mild will really suit him.
