Mrs Bigley likes them to be fairly heavy and hairy and can be facey if she knows someone in the ring.

Have been under both judges, have found them both, especially carolyn whitely to be very fair and straight. They both go for bone, substance and movement and manners. Carolyn had hunter ponies in the early years and daughters have moved onto hacks and hunters so she is hot on performance.
I predit this will be a fair and equal qualifier...

Carolyn Whitely is as facey as they come , I wouldn't bother if I were you unless you get a certain person(no names mentioned) from down south to lead or ride your pony.

He used to work for Ann Overton Abilitt quite a few years ago. I went under Mrs Bigley several yrs ago on a 4 yr old section D, being rather sharp to ride and usually taking some time to settle i entered in the open class first purely for experience and to get the edge of him before his next class being the Novice. She placed me 2nd in the open class saying he was a fabulous mover , very well mannered. and just her type( he was like sitting on a time bomb, being very naughty and certainly not well mannered) In the next class ( the novice)...he settled, behaved well and gave a lovely show.............to be pulled in 7th and told not really her type...... ?? DERRRR? ? didnt even notice it was the same animal a few minutes later!! So as you can imagine....she isnt on my xmas list !

Well I have stewarded for Mrs Bigley on occassions in the past and I have been quite shocked at how she "favors certain competitors". A certain sec A pony that careered all over the ring with a well known rider on top placed 1st with, "well I think we can forgive him that little upset" and greeting other competitors by their christian names.
