I'd agree with Bay or Chestnut, although greys and coloureds are becoming more and more popular.

I have 2 coloureds although one of them looks grey as he is a historical coloured and has now gone white, a bay and a liver chestnut.

I have a chocolate dun, an exmoor that is passported as brown but is EXACTLY the same colour as the chocolate dun and a grey. I would have always thought that bay would be the most common colour but strangely at the moment on our livery yard out of 13 horses we only have 2 bays on!

Having spent all week at a pony club rally I bet it changes with what height/type they are as well. All the littlies seem to be almost entirely greys, hardly any others at all apart from the odd bay darty, middlies are almost all bays and the biggest classes are a complete mix of everthing!

It does vary by breed anyway.
