I've got a Patterdale, I had terriers before, but they were Border and Border/Lakeland crosses and were all working dogs, but Caspar is purely a pet. I find him the most pleasant, kind natured little fellow, good with kids and other animals including the yard cat, who is a total monster. He does however have the Patterdale blood, and when something runs, he quickly loses interest, but if it puts up a bit of a fight, like the cat, he just loves it as that is where their strength lies, in being bred to hold at bay. He will also throw you a deaf one if he wants to, and you can scream your lungs out, but he just keeps on trotting away. A more faithful dog though I have never had. If you google Brian Nuttall you will find some history of the breed and traits etc and you can decide from there. I think dogs are around the £200 - £250 mark with bit*hes being up to £400. Hope that helps.

Hi Wishiwasrich, I have two patterdale terrier bit*hes, one now lives with my mother and one with me as they were sisters from the same litter and had bad fights but I think that is all terriers for you My bit*h now gets on really well with our staff dog as she is the boss. They have great temprements, quiet for terriers, good with kids and other animals (even cats) I love my girls they are great.
