There have been some judge changes if that helps anyone! There is a link to the amended judges list on the BSPS website home page

yes that is right Mr D.L Thomas is not judging and it seems that Mr P Cook and Mrs C Robertshaw and Mrs A Abrahall are not either
i DO hope this show keeps going as not everybody can get the time off work/School to attend the Summer Champs and this Show gives those people the chance to attend their societies championships

I think the loss of the Heritage Gold Cup is a great shame and will be the clincher in preventing some people from going who might otherwise have done so.

yes thats another reason we arnt as keen on the idea of going! No Gold Cup then the same judge doing most of our classes, at £28 a class im just not convinced!!

sorry BSPS but too many negatives for us to go to the Heritage Champs ~ really think these societies need to realise how the economy is affecting everybody ~ we all experiencing cuts so why shouldnt they but no, £28 for Training Stakes for example is outragious and yes, Steph, not good judge for us either!

Because I have been judged by her quite a few times as she is a local judge for us and she has told me that my pony is to "horsey"?!?

See you there then stefwheway. Lets hope that it's worth it!!!! I've just got some directions as I've been told that it can be tricky to find and I'll be gutted if I get lost and miss our class.

how do some of you know that Ms hesford does not like your horses I went under her and her co judge at a HOYs qualifier earlier on this year. All the classes ended up a who’s who, nothing else mattered, so have opted out of the BSPS champs.

Talking of woolly mammoths, how are you all doing with coats? Have lots of you clipped or not?
Our Highland is actually not as woolly as i thought she would be.

at the cost of repeating myself "there are two judges " and all the judges seem to be mixed up all week!!!!!!!

I am definately not paying a total of £81 (if you are not already a member) to enter one class. I asked about entry numbers and was told they couldn't tell me. This is such shame because the show is only about 20 miles from here and Onley is a good venue. However, its too much of a risk with a baby novice who might (knowing him) have stage fright.

Yes there are 2 judges, however to do well you will need both of these judges to be good! These are the classes I could enter: Blue Riband B&C: Phase 1 - D Hesford Open 138cm WHP: Phase 1 - D Hesford PP Welsh B's & C's: Phase 2 - D Hesford I wouldnt really call that mixing up the judges myself!!

I am very shocked by the lack of entries so far, as listed above. For a Championship you would have expected 30 in each class at least. Especially the workers.
I wondered if the fact Royal London goers found the showground a bit 'under-construction' and maybe it has put a few people off. We cant do both Summer and Heritage or might consider it.

We are not attending due to the reports on the venue ( Royal London) under construction is not good when you are paying £28 per class !

We cant do both Summer and Heritage or might consider it. there is a huge problem with the British economy and an awful lot of people just cannot afford entries + stabling+ diesel+food for another championship show ~ in the summer you may get people travelling from Scotland and the North of England but at this time of the year it aint as enjoyable showing in cold weather then there's halloween followed by bonfire night and then Christmas and kids want to do all of those too and oh my, the pot just aint full enough for all of it so if you live in the real world, it isnt at all surprising that there are low entries at the heritage champs

BSPS have plenty of money, why don't they go to Addington if the area shows can afford it, why don't they, its great facilities, plenty of surfaces to ride and great cafe'.

Yes it does seem a bit unfair that you have to travel so far a lot of the time.
I know its off subject but RI seems unfair to the northerners

I think the main issue here is not an objection to a particular judge. I'm sure we would all love to be able to choose judges that like our ponies - but sadly it doesn't work that way!! It is more the fact that a lot of M&M ponies do both workers and flat classes, so for the BSPS to appoint the same judge to do 3 out of the 5 Open classes is a bit shortsighted. If you don't do well in the first class then it's a very disheartening if you have the same judge in another 2 classes. Especially at £28 per entry.
