My lovely little foal is looking rather motheaten?
She has patches of hair coming out all over her.
Is this her foal coat shedding? She is one month old?
She is really well, healthy, lively in all ways and the hair she lost around her botty (due to the heat scour) is now growing back dark bay.

My little riding pony filly is doing exactly the same she is only three weeks old she was the same colour as velvet and is very dark underneath! Xxx

Yes , she is losing her foal coat. This is when you will see her true colour coming through.

My colt is losing his coat too! almost completely now! I have groomed him he loves it!!

Our filly is aswell! She was a pain bay but now looks like she going to be black with brown points! So happy!

yes they look awful and motheaten when they are shedding , my foal was born bay and turned grey so he looked really funny lol

LOL - so is my little filly - born chestnut but now has patches of bay coming through - i am hoping for a bay filly just like her mum.

We have some very moth eaten ponies at present, most have started changing however our TB foal has only just now started to lose her coat - she was born 4th April!!!!! She had a coat like a teddy bear!!!! Now has her ears out and a bit off her neck but in general looks like a total rag bag!!!

Velvets has come off loads on her neck, but no new hair underneath - just bald!
