They are grieving LP.they need some routine back in their life.Do you have a catflap for them ?if so can you confine them to that area, with perhaps a litter tray close by to "remind" them.I'm sure they will settle in time

lp sorry to hear about your cats temporary toilet blip, i cant suggest anything other than the litter tray to remind them as suzee said. On a slightly different note what bloodlines does your grey horse have as hes super?

They're quite expensive but have you tried the plug in feline calmer thingys you can get from the vets? My more sensitive gentle cat was competely traumatised when our 2 yr old labrador died suddenly a few weeks ago, and at the same time a neighbours cat appeared and attacked him (no lab for safety) and ripped his tongue along with other hideous injuries. Vet suggested the plug ins and I have to say I was sceptical but both cats are more chilled and using tray again and love rubbing on the plug thingy. Highly recommend it, along with time and tlc which is what you all need (wish there was a human one that would give any relief to you at all but afraid not) - hugs xxx

Oh meant to say like house training a dog, cats go back to the smell so you could do with some of that pet odour removing spray cleaner as household cleaners have ammonia which attracts them back to wee again instead of putting them off. Hope it helps, you really don't need any more to cope with x

Oh dear me, kitties are picking up your distress LP. My Sage always goes and sleeps with anyone in the house that is poorly and barely leaves their site until they are better so I know they pick these things up.
I guess more stroking and cuddling.

Hi LP, Sorry to hear about upset kitties! Feliway is good and hope that starts to help soon, another idea is feeding them a calmer - Zylkene is one or i've also suggested to someone else aswell that Royal Canin do a food called Calm which you can order from the vets, we've trialled the dog and cat version with very good results (hence i'm telling everyone about it)! Really hope you find a solution, sending lots of love your way xxx

Feliway is much, much cheaper online (try hyperdrug) than pets at home or the vets!

Mr Pickle - bless him - ignored the Feliway spray and difuser and actually widdled straight on it!!!!!
I caught him red handed (or something) 3 days running! Therefore, against all cat friendly advice - had my little water pistol ready. gave him a bit of a squirting the next day, when he went to have a tiddle at the front door and he hasnt re-offended since!
Sorry - I am not recomending this treatment for young or nervous cats, but Pickle is 14.5 years and knows that I wont hurt him. He also knows that pees and poos are for outdoors! He is now re-instored as mummys little white fluff ball of perfectness - so peace and good toilet habits are re-instated in our house xxx

Thank goodness for that - whatever works! I wish the water gun would deter my neighbours cat from attacking my gentle little cat I still haven't found a way to get rid of it, it's a feral cat from Spain so perhaps I need to swear at it in Spanish instead?!

The water pistol did work on our neighbours cat, that was bullying my three. The final straw was when he started coming in our cat flap and eating their food. He got a little bit of a squirting (I am a surprisingly good aim when needed) and he never came back
