We have A's & B's but Section B's are my favourite of the welsh breeds, if it was upto me the whole yard would be full of them. This is mine Pennwood Alakai (S: Eyarth Savero D:Downland Sailaway) I thought Clive Morse still own him ? Sorry dont know how to make the picture smaller! No i purchased him at the spring sales back in 2009! First spotted him when he went through Fayre Oaks as a three year old, and couldnt miss him when he went through the Spring sales.....it was definatly a last minute dash down to Builth!!

I do like your B pennydown, I know the finer stamp of B is very popular, but yours has substance and is very welsh, much more my cup of tea! No offence to any of the others, just down to preference!

We have a lovely B that is my daughter's soul mate, but I love admiring them all on here, MM I also adore Pennydown's pony. I never know how they judge a B they seem to have such different stamps within the breed and I like both the chunky strong type as he is, and the finer more riding pony types, obviously the judges have their preferences but I wouldn't know where to start.

Thank you Rachelvb, she looks lovely a typical Hale pony. We used to own one and used The Hale Valentine a few times, he bred us some lovely foals!

Being a breeder of Section B's myself, it frustrates me when the subject, more often that not, seems to turn to comments about "type". Especially when it would appear to me that the vast majority of those pictured have type, bone and substance. AND the trend/fashion these days is actually for a more substantial type of pony.

Haggismarmite and milliesmum - thank you for your comments, it's lovely to hear what other people think of her, as we are obviously very bias!! xxxx

I have been very lucky over the years to ride some lovely section b's for people all with very different personalitys! Section B's have always been my favourite breed and my mum and myself have been hunting for ages to find a substantial up to height b to go under saddle but they seem few and fair between, a lot seem to do in-hand and cover and never go on to come out under saddle. The last years I seem to have ended up with the C's! hushabyepie I love your boy - see why you rushed down there. Some of the ones I have ridden sorry about pic sizes! Lemonshill Firebird Steehorst Elegance Thornberry Ptarmigan - Priestwood Oberon - Locksbitt Whispering Wind and my first boy that started it all Cotteral Mastermind

Just to echo daughter above! I have always loved the B's and hushabyepie yours is to die for. What a lovely pony just the sort that we have been looking for to bring out under saddle. Denis at Weydown stud you have some lovely ponies as well - really interested looking at your gallery as the one above Cottrell Mastermind (sorry spelling is not her strong point!) was by Rotherwood State Occassion out of Cottrell Nell Gwyn and I notice you had some with that breeding. Magnus was a lovely chap who was also a top class SHP, it was such a shame the ridden M&Ms hadn't really taken off when we owned him. We have a lovely B at the moment with some real old lines, Celton Sandstorm but he just needs to be a bit bigger for Chloe - but is such a great, giving pony and hopefully will find a child to love him soon! Meanwhile the search goes on for the ONE.

Hi I’m wondering if anyone can help me, I have a Welsh section B called Skellorn sandalwood (sam), I can’t find any foal pictures of him anywhere , I’ve tried contacting the Skellorn stud but they can’t find anyone, can anyone point me in the right direction or might even have any foal picture of him, thank you
