I've looked on the BD website, and it just says "hat with harness, light gloves, white cream or beige jods, black or brown boots". Why do some wear stocks? Should a junior wear short boots (as in showing) or are long okay? Blue or black jacket? I'm so confused.......

I wore a black jacket, white shirt & stock, black velvet hat with flesh coloured harness, white jods and black short boots and gaiters Im not sure why stocks are worn in dressage but I think they finish the picture nicely.

If you are going unaffiliated - then your normal showing clothes will be fine. As long as you are smart and tidy.
For BD - I wear Blue Jacket, White stock, pale gloves, pale or white jods, long boots.

My daughter (6) entered her first two solo dressage tests this summer. The first time she wore her normal showing stuff (tweed as we have M&Ms). The only thing we changed was gloves - brown for showing, canary for stressage. As a little Dressage Diva in training, she immediately picked up on the other jockeys in their navy and stocks, so asked if she could wear hers for the second competition. Fortunately we have them anyway for EPs. So shirt & tie are fine (navy or tweed jacket), but navy jacket & stock are too (I've never been convinced about tweed jacket & stock ) ETA: Just remembered about joddies - she only has pale canary competition jods at the moment, but has asked for white for her birthday so she can be a true Dressage Diva
