I will be going to the Northern lunch, always really enjoy it, good for catching up and feels like an opener to the season.
Anyone else, any new faces? Anyone want to go and not too sure about it?

Just checked the H & C website and it is to be Association not Society (BSHA). I do like it, think it will seem strange for a while but I bet by the end of the 2007 season and we have done the British Show Horse Association National Championships the BSHC & RHA will be a distant memory.
Where are you from Not Sure? Are you between luncheon venues?

If you register with this site, you can PM me. Then if you go to the Northern Lunch at least you will know me and you can come over and say hi!

I like Hackety, go to the Northern Luncheon and thoroughly enjoy it, it's a chance to meet old friends and greet new! Well worth going and something to brighten up an otherwise dull February!

I'm not sure why they insist on calling the Northern do 'lunch' when all of us northerners know it's 'dinner' I'm thinking of going, but I don't know anyone

Don't worry about that, we all talk to everyone and no one gets left out in the cold. Before you know it we will have extracted you life and showing history from you. Please don't be put off by people on here being negative on other posts, everyone is very friendly. The lunches are a great way to meet some of the people that you will be competing with, then at least you will know a few faces when you are in the ring.

I forgot to mention that my non horsey husband really enjoyed the company and the roast beef! I got to choose from an amazing selection of raffle prizes that obviously had taken a great ideal of thought and I went home with an beautiful new browband! So all those unsure people we can ask for a bigger table and you are all most welcome to join it!!!

Well I am thinking of going but I am so new to showing that I have never even been to a show before. I have ridden for the pure enjoyment up to now but then I met some friends who are mad on showing and now 'I want some of that!' I have bought a 'been there and done it' show cob (love him to bits) to break me in gently and hopefully will have a great time finding out how the hell you lot do it! Sorry started to waffle there. Getting back to the point do you think that a complete showing newcomer (at 27yrs!) would be welcome? I thought maybe if I got to know some people first it might not be as daunting.
