My friend has qualified for HOYS ;D I am going down from Tuesday to thursday to groom for her. She will be going in the box but we live different parts of the country so ill be driving down there and meeting her and sleeping in the lorry. Does anyone know if i can, and where i can park the car there for a few days?? Any idea on cost?? Not sure whether ill have to use the NEC car parks but expecting that will cost alot for this length of time so was wondering whether any hotel offer car parks cheaper? Or whether we can get a car parking pass so i can park with the lorry?

you cant park in the wagon park i dont think , so you will prob have to park on the NEC car parks , i think they are about £7 ish a day ? You will also need exhibitor passes to get into the wagon park , good luck xx

Could you possibly get the train to Birmingham and then a bus to the NEC probably going to be cheaper and maybe your friend could drop you at a train station on her way home bound to be a commutor train somewhere close. Or maybe if your friend has space in her wagon get a train to meet her at home and then go with her in the wagon. Just a couple of ideas as would think parking for 2-3 days at the NEC would be expensive.

Last year I paid for a Car Park ticket when I orderd my tickets on line, think it was either £7 or £9? We arrived early - no one checking car park tickets at all - just drove on in!!

Ive just made enquiries myself, its £8 per day at the NEC car park, You can not get into the lorry park with cars. You need either an exhibitors pass £69 (3 sent out with each entry) or you can go to the stable office and get a grooms wristband free if you have purchased a standard public ticket from the boxoffice. Grooms wristband only gets you in the lorry park and stables not the warm up areas etc. And its a long walk by all accounts to the Caldene arena.

you can get a train to the nec, then walk along to the bit where hoys is. I think it's called Birmingham International.

yehr birmingham international, it's a 10 minute walk to hoys from the trains there. i normally go by train and you normally have to change at birmingham new street then to birmingham international, you've got to be very aware of whats going on at new street so you don't miss the train, and the station is massive.

Not sure, but it may be cheaper to park at the train station or airport and get the free tram through to hoys?

train and a grooms wristband is a really good option but if you are planning to shop the car will take your purchases. No cars in the lorry park anyway, they are parked like sardines. If you get there no later than 6am you can normally sneak into the VIP or at least park really close in the public.
