As she is only a three year old I would stop riding her immediately, if she is hacking she has probably done enough before he turning away rest for the winter anyway. A this young age, carrying on whilst she has a sore mouth, could lead to long term phycological and physical problems. She then needs to see a dentist with a good reputation. Prior to when she returns to work next Spring, you will need dentist again, saddle fitter and physio making them all aware of what has happened this year.
Following these professionals, you shall need to book your daughter lessons with possibly schooling from the instructor.
All very expensive I know, but part and parcel of having a youngster and this phase of the training it is absolutely essential to get it right.

...........there is a contradiction there!!!! ![>:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/angry.png) Without seeing the rider and the horse, it is impossible to comment on what has caused the problem. I suggest you ask a vet to look at the mouth and a decent instructor to advise on the ridden work. Horses have frighteningly good long term memories- a 3 year old who is experiencing pain when ridden wont easily forget the experience. I hope you can turn things around for her.

I think the OP is asking, as the pony is sore on one side only, does this mean that the horse is leaning more to one side, and is this because of how she is being ridden, and what needs to change so that the horse doesn't become 'one sided'.
First of all I agree, stop riding till the mouth is healed, and as a three year old I would turn away for the winter. But as regards the riding/training problem, a good instructor on the ground is the answer, as without seeing the ponies way of going and what the rider is doing, the answer won't be immediately obvious.

I'd be thinking of turning her away now hun, and also wouldnt be trying to have her on the bit at this age, Id be working on getting her forward and generally just 'enjoying' being out and about. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Good luck with her.
