..the horsey world these days . All there ever seems to be now is bit*hing and backstabbing. In all the years i have had involvment in horses yes there has been alittle bit*hing and backstabbing, but now it appears to be a thing to have a horse for. Everywhere you go it's there, but why are you all ment to be taking care of the ones you love or bit*hing and backstabbing instead! Come on now people, look at what is more important.

Sorry, i am not tar'in you all, but 99.9% of the horsey world is now full of bit*hiness and backstabbing and there just isn't any need for it!

No there isn't any need for it but i'm afraid it happens all we can do is not get involved and do our own thing.

Totally agree Stinkpig - yard politics are also the for bit*hing/backstabbing - I just turn a deaf ear and get on with my own horses - those bit*hing soon get fed up if you don't rise to it or get involved

Thanks stinkpig Had my fill of it on Friday when one of my liveries took it on herself to blatantly stand on the yard criticising a very competent girl who handles her stallion brilliantly - by not giving the remarks any credence (I retreated to my i-pod) it took the wind out of her sails and off she went to pollute someone elses atmos

It is out there, but I don't think its restricted to the horse world. I think you get a certain amount of backbiting in any competitive situation. Generally speaking the majority of the b1tching on our yard is down to teenage girls with raging hormones.

I have to say you do get it in horses showing in particular but also have to say, showing people can also be the nicest and most helpful if you approach for help or advice

The problem is that yet again the minority tend to spoil it for the majority !

Yes the reason I love showing is the pride I feel in my horses and being round like minded people, we all have the odd dig in moments of disapointment but its the few who can never think of any thing nice to say which ruins it for people

If you can't say anything nice then don't say anything at all ! That is just so true and we should all remember it.

just leave them to get on with it and don't rise to the bait they soon get fed up. I sometimes wounder if the newer judges get a bit intimidated by the ringside and worry what other people are thinking and there-fore don't command the ring as they should. Can't imagine anyone criticizing the likes of Anne Lumsden they'd wear their b*ll*cks as earing's

Now that i would like to see, some judges do get a hard time and i think that the majority of the time they do a very good job

HALFPASS THOUGHT YOUR TURN OF PHRASE WAS BRILLANT..NEVER HEARD THAT BEFORE BUT I LIKE IT !!!
As for the bit*hing and backstabbing, l also think it is dreadful and personally have nothing to bit*h to other people about because l know that my ponies are the best around it's just that not everyone agrees!!!
...On a more serious note sometimes bit*hing can be misconstrude for honesty...and unfortunately some people can't stand honesty..however, like most of you have said probably best not to get involved then no bit*hing can take place...

Haven't got a problem with honesty but there are ways to do that without being nasty

Yep totally agree l guess what l am saying is that some people ask for an opinion and because it doesn't give them the answer that they so desperately want they then start bit*hing and the backstabbing, making comments like........ you don't have a clue or you don't know what your talking about.. Unfortunately l do call a spade a spade and would tell you honestly if I, for example, liked your horse or not, but like you say there is a way of saying it...

Rise above it, people take mick out of me when backs turned, but thats cos i actually do something with my pony, take pride in doing so and so far have been sucessfull, im took the pee out of by people with disabled horses ( sorry but mst are pysically or mentally) who cant ride (shut a few people up when i got on a big one other week i only have a 12hh) and are dont actually attempt to ride from one month to the next ....... I work my pony most days, the latest hilarity was i used some old gas hair straightners on my ponies mane to tame it over, i rise above it now, do my own thing, they obviously have nothing better to do with their time, they ought to go do a bit of something with there own scabby horses and leave me to myself, i have invested in a radio as i love grooming for hours when kids at school Broader shoulders than any of them, they need to look what they actually do beofre critising others, if my horse happy and healthy whats the problem, gonna say next time hes going to have highlights and mascara on lol, the looks i got when i white pasted his legs for the first show i went to while on this year.... guess what i came back with a first place

Emma, take no notice and let them get on with it, your pony is not just a weekend rosette machine, he's a member of your family, he's happy, healthy and very much loved, that's obvious for anyone to see. These small minded people really are not worth bothering about.

Ooooh not pink on a chestnut! Baby blue would look lovely on him!
By the way, being horseless at the moment I hack out at the riding school where I used to have my girls on livery. We have a couple of biggies who I'm sure you would enjoy, if you want to get some more riding in you are welcome to come with me, I usually ride Wednesday or Thursday! Or they have an all weather school if you fancy a lesson.

take no notice emma, your like me, do your own thing I do, I get the bit*hing because I take my cob to housewives people laugh at me, but I say if people were to look after there own buisness like they try and look after mine they would have just as much fun. it seems in the horse world that if you get on and enjoy yourself and do it for the love of it and your horse people are quick to knock you down. so I say hold your head up and be happy.
smile and make some-one else happy.
will give you a karma and make you happy.

Awww thanks, he has baby blue ones aswell but has about 3 sets one to wear one in the wash and a spare ... The pink ones a freind was selling a bijou rug and bandages in pink well i couldnt resist !!!!!!!, Today was another example, hes stayied in today as weather foul and muddy, i decided as we have a bit of a mane issue, Rug has rubbed the bottom half to a fine wisp !!!!!! even with satin, that i would wash it quick with WARM water lay it over and band it down with kiddies bands not elastic, my freind heard a comment and stood up for me, something along the lines of whys she doing that her show isnt for 2 weeks !!!!!!! I want his mane laid flat and looking its best noone has heard of preparation, now this i could cope with , but this woman cannot ride ( quite funny horse does its own think and shes like oh you naughty boy !!!!!!) only grooms once in a blue moon , comes up throws horse out and brings it in THATS IT ...... so i went whole hog and groomed my pony with radio on to within and inch of his life, he is gleeming and has his plaits in, looks a bobby dazzler, this is the woman whos horse had rain scald in summer and kept putting it out without a rug instead of leaving it in in the dry as she didnt want to muck out twice .......... DOHHHHH, im looking for or thinking of writing a poem or some old proverbs and pinning to board, along the lines of ... people in glass houses shouldnt throw stones, why waste time talking about what im doing rather than doing something yourself of usefulness, take a look in the mirror, when your horse looks as good as mine then critisise, so if any good poem of proverb writiers in the area help
