Why do people who are looking for quality animals think that South Wales is the other side fo the Moon. Several people have inquired about our ponies, but once we mention "South Wales" the interest seems to wane. There's excellent show animals in them there hills!

Maybe they are on a tight budget . I went a long way to get my filly but i was very lucky to have someone in the family with transport, if i had to pay full whack i would have struggled to have been able to afford it. You do have some lovely horses in South Wales so i'm sure you will find a buyer. Good luck

Merlod I think its the same wherever you are, people aren't prepared to come to Scotland either, despite the fact it would often be quicker to fly up from the south than be stuck in a traffic jam on the M1. I usually find that when I have a pony for sale, which is only rarely, it takes forever for some brave person to make the trip up north. Fortunately once they appear the sale is usually tied up fairly quickly. A few years ago now someone came to see one of my ponies who had restricted herself to a two hour drive - she'd looked at 34 ponies spending every weekend for months, all of them had been unsuitable and she was getting desperate, she was amazed to walk on to the yard a meet a 'proper' pony I always find once you have one person interested you have others coming along as well, usually the day after the sale is concluded. Good luck

Travelling is not a problem for us we have even been to Belgium. We are in hte NorhtEast and for our last three coloureds we have had to travel South, I even did Shropshire and back in a day to see a foal. (which was not impressed as it hadnt been handled and was turned out and couldnt get near it) What is annoying is when you have travelled so far and the horse is still turned out, hasnt seen a brush or you get there and they tell you it was kicked the night before, What happened to a telephone call to tell me to re arrange as when traveling so far its hard to make another journey. As far as transport to pick it up we either travel the night before and stay over or use a very good transport company.

I travelled from Surrey to Lancashire in one day to pick up my lovely boy, he was everything and more that I was told about him! That was a round trip of 500 miles but worth it!

We liked a couple of foals we saw on HQ, would have been an 8 1/2 hour drive so got cheap flights & flew instead. People who were selling picked us up at airport and gave us a lovely day looking at their ponies, needless to say we bought one Had the cash with me so paid for him, came home & arranged his transport and had him brought up the road for us. Our flights and his transport added another 500 to the price but it was worth it as we got IMO a lovely pony. When we bought another horse had a 4 hour drive each way to see him.
