This morning I read the thread about rats. The wit and sense of humour some of you naturally have put a smile on my face regarding your comments ~ thank you. ~Anyway I have a major problem this winter with MOLES, they are ruining my paddocks. ~As quick as I flatten the huge hills (mountains) during the day, they are back with a vengence the next morning. Sometimes the terriers get lucky, more than often the little blighters get away. If I was fortunate enough to have a small tractor and chain harrow this would help (saving for one at present) but I haven't. Hubby has managed to trap a few but he's not always here. I would welcome any advice to encourage the little devils to clear off or put a stop altogehter to their annoying destruction of my paddocks. I guess I could get employ a mole catcher but before I go to the expense of this ~ any ideas? ?

I too have a serious mole problem this year and employed a mole catcher unfortunately, they are proving too clever for him.

They probably came from the same old wife that said you wait for a full moon and then when the moles pop their heads out to have a look you bash them over the head !

thats all right for Mrs Mole but not a lot of fun for Mr Mole, here's another thought I wonder how they meet to reproduce as they are blind and live solitary lives do you think they just bump into each other while making their little tunnels or is there a mole dating agency that send them on blind dates

Maybe they don't care! Maybe just the law of averages ensures the continuation of the mole population!!!!!

I've just remembered Bertie the cat at the kennels used to sit over the mole hills and wait for them to pop the heads out, he'd drag them out and eat them.Mind you the cats now long gone .
