If there's a knack to it I've yet to find it!! What annoys me is the prepacked bacon - there's a little flappy bit on the corner of the cellophone, supposedly to get hold of to peel open the pack. If you can lift it up enough to get hold of it, you give it a tug - and hey presto! Sealed pack of bacon in one hand and triangular piece of cellophane in the other!!!!

scissors That's all very well Emma, but all the scissors in my house are under lock and key since my 4 year old redesigned my front room curtains with a pair whilst he was supposedly off school with the flu!!!

similar to a bale knife, this one comes from B&Q bright yellow £2 it has a pointed end its designed for opening packaging you can also get them from office supply type places. Its also easy to make your own diet food from scratrch me and OH are od a diet and so far I havnt used a ready meal and the pounds are comiing off.

Agree with you stephjw1, we (OH and I) both watch our weight, and we very rarely use a ready meal, a lot of them aren't as healthy as they appear, particularly as a lot of them have too much salt in them and this is something OH has to watch. Fresh lean meat, fish, and fruit and veg are much better for you, although I appreciate not everyone has the time to cook from scratch. Also if you make it yourself you know exactly what's in it!!!
