I had a SHP advertised.

I had over 20 requests for photos and I asked for the recipients of the emails to acknowledge them.
I also followed up most of the emails up with a PM requesting confirmation that they had received the photos.

Only 3 people actually did this.
Two of these people came to see him and he now has a home with one of them.

One rang me and said she was on her way and when she didn't turn up I tried to ring her to see if she was lost (numerous times there was no answer).

In the last couple of days I have had a person wanting photos of my 10 week old black ID x TB filly, my 14 year old coloured broodmare and one of her coloured fillies (didn't specify which) either a 3 year old or a two year old but both with different breeding.

Can anyone actually be interested in all three?

I have had a few enquiries on preloved who have asked me to ring them as they have no credit.

I have replied that I am prepared to ring them but if they can't afford credit how can they afford an horse? I have yet to receive a reply to this!

In contrast my son has advertised his poultry on preloved and has had people come from miles away and very few timewasters.

thats good, yeah thats bit strange cant afford credit normally means they fairly young not saying this a definate but in my experience

had a few them in my time a bucket load of photo,s a load of e mails, arrangements to come so you take time off work (unpaid sometimes) then what happens they dont arrive not a call email text im just physically sick of them but he-ho thats life i suppose

I have had numerous emails asking all sorts of questions about my pony, have replied to everyone and had about 3 responses (I wouldn't care but he is a true allrounder, suitable for almost any rider!) I have not said any thing to put any one off, hae only had one person astually ring about him who was on the phone for half an hour and then said "oh Iv'e just noticed he's only 14.2 he's too small" !! Having said that when enquiring I normally email first because you can end up being on the phone for ages and with a job, a toddler and the ponies to see to time is precious and then If I am interested after emailing I will ring, I have had loads of people try and arrange viewings via email before!

This is why I like selling at auctions, I only go to good sales where i know there will be some other quality horses ponies there. Its just one day if they want the pony they buy it, I get my money off the Auction so no bounced cheques, and no endless phone calls and people not turning up when there supposed to, and no timewasters. hurray.
