My puppy will not drink from a bowl!
We feed her Royal Canine that is soaked, is it possible she is getting all the water she needs from that?
I'm worried, i tried reducing the amount of water i added to her food in the hope it would encourage her to drink. It didn't and her wee just turned bright yellow so i started syringing her some water.
She is lively and eating well. I've got her at the vets tomorrow for her jabs so I'll ask them. Any one got any ideas though?

I would say don't worry! Leave her to it and provide fresh water for her to help herself. She won't dehydrate herself so just let her get on with it.

sounds like she was dehydrated if wee was very yellow. I'm a little anal and spent months/years looking in to feeding dogs as i compete at agility with ours mine are all BARF fed but the next best food is fish 4 foods(might be dogs!!) or Orojan about the same price as royal canine, Drt food is what it says on the bag, Dry so u do right by soaking it she sounds as tho she is getting alot of her water that way but u can add gravy to her water there are some u can get from most pet shops or i add an rehydration drink to mine when we are away competing as one dog never drinks enough they love it oh pooh whats it called? i'll let u know when my brain kicks in. Also your vet will more then likely say BARF is bad and you dog needs a complete feed daily at the same time etc etc because in the wild all there food came in bowls at the same time and was always the same lol (99% vets want you to feed what they supply!) oh going on a little sorry but your vet will/should check puppy over try not to worry too much i know its hard but she must be getting enough if she is not drinking. Sorry cannot remember the name for the life of me tonight if it helps its in a blottle with a blue lid the liquid looks like dirty water normaly with the gravy toppers about 500ml bottle err dam my golf fish brain for names oh but i do remember the last lot i got cheap at the kc fest as they had a name change or was that something else??? Ok sorry i'm going pm me if you want anymore useless info sorry i could not be more help

Weldone Ladybumble for remembering! I'll give it a try. The vet said not to worry to KJM, but I am, I can't help it. She is such a tiny thing, weight 2lb so she could get dehydrated easily. I hope I haven't got a picky princess!

The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his Tongue.

I have had another thought. Strangely enough, my little girl who has pups now refuses to drink or eat out of metal bowls.. if I put it in a cermaic dish, its not a problem.. dont ask why.. but anything is worth a go..

yea try adding something to the water.... my mom breeds cats and used to own and run her own cattery ... for fussy cat drinkers she used to add a prawn to the water... WRKED A TREAT!!!! xxx
