My black mare has developed white glasses round her eyes. The skin above and below the lids and hair have turned white, not pink! She is due to foal in May.
I believe it is a copper deficiency, but could be vitiligo (Michael Jackson would be envious). Has anyone experienced this before and how did you treat it? i.e. supplements etc and did the hair return to its original colour.
She is bright, lively, shiney and well in all other respects.
I know 'all creatures great and small had a herd of cattle' with this problem. She does look like the inverse of Harry Potter. If someone had put trick black soot round the looking bit of binoculars then this is how she looks, in negative!

I have seen this before and was told it was caused by a mineral deficiency in the diet.
