I have started a project looking at horses & ponies who have become sick either at equine events and was told that this would be the site to try to get information from pony showing people. Please can you post on here without names any illnesses or viruses your ponies have suffered and the place or showground. Thanks.

I'm not sure people would want to name the showgrounds concerned, it may be better to register as a member and then people could contact you by private message. I think you may get more response this way.
Is this project for university or college? Or do you work for a research organisation? Perhaps if you give a little more information people may be willing to contact you.

The project is for a college course. I had heard that someone had posted about a riding pony being ill after West Midlands Stallion Show. Does anyone know which thread this was on?

More ponies went down with something that sounds the same as this after the NPS show and believe one later had to be put down. Does anyone know what has happened to the riding pony?

If you are the same person posting as a guest in this thread, please could you stick to the same name? It just gets a little confusing when we don't know if we are talking to one person or two or three different people!

From what has already been said it looks as though this is a useful project. I for one would like to be made aware of this sort of thing. Ponies falling ill is surely a serious matter and the sort of thing we should be encouraging on this site rather than trivia and gossip. Go for it student, students and every other anon who can provide information. Some of us would prefer to be kept aware of these things especailly if they are being hushed up or could be avoided.
