Including all the excavating, drainage, fencing etc and a superb modern surface, what does one cost please? Not sure what size yet but if you can give me an idea of what yours cost, that would be great.

We were quoted for a 20 by 40 between £20,000 and £27,000. Of course this is depending on size and surface as this is big contributing factor to upping the price. Also where to put the soil, rubble etc from digging out, it is cheaper to have it as grass banking around your menage also helps with wind factor. But best call in your local builders for accurate quote.

Thanks robyn, that is about what they are quoting. £30,000 for the latest geltrack type surface and a bit bigger than 20 x 40, say 25. And now we have had the chap round to look at the site and he likes the d**es and being able to keep the spoils on site to level the field.

We did ours ourselves and subcontracted. Entire thing was £12k for a 50mx30m (twice amount of surface for 20x40) for cushionride and would highly recommend. Price worked out roughly same for sand/ruber depending on type of ruber you have. For gel track would be approx 45k for one this size. If you can keep spoil on site then for 20x40 ground work should be around 4k, plus fencing plus surface. Martin collins surface is approx £30 per sqm so 24k (give or take a discount ) for surface alone. If buying MC then they do a good deal on installation and don't rip you off. Make sure you get the drainage right whatever you do otherwise your expensive surface will just be ruined. Better to spend on the drainage than a fancy topping.
