You're only meant to spray a little into the feathering, manes and tails or it becomes very greasy. I put mine in an old spray container and finely spray the feathers etc, I never put it on the main body of the pony though. Then just finger through and leave it, stops the mud sticking and tails tangling!

I use mine exactly the same way, small spray bottle and spritz sparingly onto mane, tail and feather - use two or three times a week through the Winter ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Ditto above, i coat from the knees downwards in the winter as it acts as a complete water proofer and is ideal for protecting against mud.

Pig Oil is fantastic. I got a big tub (15l) from my vets (suprisingly the cheapest source), i apply it onto lizzies very thick mane it works miracles. And for mites mix with sulphur - smothers and kills em.

I found it clogs up the nozzleon a spray bottle so use it neat now - you don't need much & it does leave the mane greasy but at least the mud doesn't stick & it's easy to untangle hair!

ive been using it on my horses shoulders to stop his rugs rubbing (for some reason everything rubs him here, ive tried every make of rug and every type of protector and they still rub) but ive been spraying it onto a spounge and rubbing it on. leaves a lovely shine but not to greasy either. will defo be using it like that for extra shine when required.. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

pig oil is to stop pigs skin from drying out ,its not made from pigs, if you google the name pig oil it tells you all about it and different ways to use it. I have cobs with lots of mane/ tail and feathers and its great to keep them tangle free also good to stop mud fever.

We used to use it on our hunter liveries. Smothered their legs and belly in it and when they came home, literally wipe the mud off with your hand. Brilliant stuff

i have started using pig oil on my sec D's mane as it was starting to fall out, this helped his mane grow back quickly. Even though it is very thick i just put some on my hands and put it through his mane. I think its great ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)
