I'm taking the yearling for her first outing to do evaluations but have a youngstock class first wondering how to change from showing plaits to sports horse plaits and will it really matter?

I don't think it will really matter to be honest. If you are doing sport horse classes with her you tend to find they are plaited just like any normal class anyway. The only time we ever do the sport horse plaits with white tape are if we are loose jumping or doing the sports horse classes where we would also wear our whites rather than traditional inhand gear. Good luck with her, I'm sure she'll be fine

Thanks tessy for the evaluations want her to turnout correct and make an effort although know most will be out of the showing class straight into the evaluation with no change of handler dress and certainly no change of plaits! cant ever recall seeing propper plaits in the sports horse classes we've done at counties.

This is how we plaited Tiara up for her grading with CHAPS not long agao. She was presented as a sports horse broodmare. This is her at the champs last year with sporty plaits in

Can you not get away with smaller normal plaits then just white tape or clip whites around them ??

We don't bother. We just put the normal plaits that suit the pony in. Shows her off to her best, and will do the same for the Futurity and studbook show.
