OOOOH I really hope this is the case!!!
I do actually think all catagories should be split though..........make for a far more exciting final... ;D
Also It would be great if the M&M's were in the main ring at the final!!!!!enough people would support this is sure.....

Not before time, I was saying at Hoys this year that it would make far more sense to split all the breeds, and the natives must be the most supported classes at the show both competitor and supporters. Roll on the A's and B's splitting as well

How can they split one breed right down and leave three breeds in together still i.e. the Dales/Fell/Highlands........surely not fair on the other breeds, i bet everyone wishes they all had extra chance to qualify, why should it be only the welsh C and D. Oh well, guess it just makes it less prestigious for C's and D's to qualify for it.

Iv'e never heard the 4 welsh sections described as one breed! not really the case is it now....if there were half as many dales/fells/highlands i'm sure they would get the same treatment - but there isn't.

I do hope this is true as a friend has 2 duaghters on Cs the younger on a 12.2 version. We have sat in frozen fear while these to brave girls have run the gauntlet with cobs standing well over 15hh.At least now it will be a safer class to ride.May actually have a go next year myself.

Actually to the poster two posts above, the high/fell/dales class is usually the most highly supported class behind the C&D section, and splitting highlands out from fells and dales would also provide a more even split than the Cs being split from Ds will

Will both the C and D winners qualify for HOYS or will they have to go to a Championship to decide.
R Cornwall have seperate classes for C and D's but only the Champion qualifies.
Thanks

I must admit to being welsh and living and showing in my homeland.
If anyone would like to come to Wales and look at all the shows that bother to put on classes for anything other than Welsh ponies, they would see that those classes are just as well supported (often better supported) than some of the Welsh classes.
I would be the first to admit that there is much more difference in the way of going for a Fell to a Dales to a Highland than from a Sect C to a D.
It doesn't make sense, unless its perceived numbers talking. After all, look at how many Welsh only shows there are all over Britain, no wonder they are popular outside of Wales.

Gawd finally we can get our own class i know the feeling it's pretty terrifying being on a small c with all the big D stallions galloping round.
Bring on the next class split!

You might find yourselves in with the B's and the A's back with the Small Breeds

You might find yourselves in with the B's and the A's back with the Small Breeds at least it's better than the D's.............but how much better???

I do hope we don't end up with the B's! I would rather stick with being with the D's if that is my other option. A C is just not comparable to a B!
I liked the idea of the few shows that split the C and D's up and then have a championship so at least you have enough space to show your horse off!
I agree with so many comments that it is no fun going round on a little C with a 15-2 cob up your backside!!!!!
C's tend to thunder round a bit too so the little kiddies on the B's may have similar feelings too. C/D is not ideal and nor is B/C.
I do hope they get their own section!
