Would have to add Sarah Jull too. She has always been fair and not at all facey.
Would add my vote for Peter Boustead too! What a popular man he is!

His contact details will be in the back of one of the rule books. I hope he is judging a decent show which isnt miles away from me!! I think i may become an 'agent for the straight judges' !! And its Jane Etheridge - not Jackie as formally posted ;D

Mr Boustead isn't the wisest choice for the small breeds as he disregards the welshies and always has the other breeds above them.

To BA
I have to disagree with you very strongly - we have a Sec A and have always done well under Mr Boustead - even scored an 18 for jumping at the champs with a pole down!! We find we always stand above the darties and exmoors with our pony when he is judging, providing we jump clear. Our Sec A is very chunky and true to type - perhaps this is what he likes about it.

Our Sec A is very chunky and true to type - perhaps this is what he likes about it. That's probably exactly what it is - he does like them to be proper native ponies with a leg at each corner.

She spent years trying to get on the BSHC&RHA panel, but kept slipping up while probationing (speaking on mobile phone while judging etc)

Would agree with comments re leg at each corner. He likes my C and he is a right little chunky monkey! Liked a D mare I had years ago too and she was very chunky!
I would also say that Mary Allison, Ann Nicholls and Russell Sutcliffe are fair.

Once again I would like to say how appreciative I am of the positive comments. Often, when judging, I am conscious of the fact that I am unlikely to please more than the winner. However, it appears that many of those who have commented here haven't necessarily won.
There are many more competent judges mentioned on this thread than me, and certainly many more competent riders. Russell Sutcliffe has competed at a very high level in show-jumping and WHP, until a nasty fall ended that- he even looks like a Whittaker!! Niki Stephens may not be P.C. enough for some but is an excellent rider and judge.
Thanks again, best wishes, and remember you " have to be in it to win it", whoever the judge is.
Merry Christmas and a Happy, and successful, New Year.
Mr B.

Well our Mr B doesn't like mine But he is still a top judge, very nice man, and just because he put me near the bottom (how rude ;D ) doesn't mean I don't respect him as a judge, he is always fair. Hear that Mr B, (ali G style) Respect ;D

Mr B please do not be amazed that people would still respect you even though you havent had them to win,it is time judges realised most competitors know there can be only one winner in a class and it cant always be them, but if they can see continuity and fairness 9 times out of 10 they will accept your opinion!Throughout the season certainly on this forum people have consistently sung your praises we can only hope you can be an example to others and they will realise that fair judging is appreciated and admired by majority of competitors.I for one would get tonnes more satisfaction being placed well by a judge who is un biased than some one I know is just doing a favour!!!!!!!!!!!!!
