Is anyone else having trouble using saddlesoap? I havent been able to get on all week. I'm pretty fed up as the site seems to have more than its fair share of problems and promises of features for paying members that have never happened. It is getting a bit annoying. I would complain to the site owner but seeing as I cant get on the site thats not possible. We all know servers can have hiccups but to be told this time after time is wearing a bit thin.

Im not surprised its slow.
Its a freebie forum sharing a server with many others, when free forums reach a certain size the server cannot cope.
Im surprised people actually pay to use it though!

The forum is not free to run and the owner pays an amount to run it, evey site has difficulites even larger sites, as for the paying side of it this is for gold and silver members to be able to access and add for sale items mainly with bonus extras that will be made avaliable when the owner has time to do them, would you expect to advertise as many horses & tack on horse quest or horse mart free........ i think not !

Sorry but, if I paid for a service I'd expect a lot better than that. I use a number of forums both free and subscription and that one has to be the most poorly run and slowest forum of them all.
Many freebie forums even provide a far superior service than that and yes they do allow you to advertise your items for free.
The board owner is seldom online to sort out any problems and the moderators (who do a fantastic job) are left to run the whole thing.
If the board owner doesnt have the time to provide the service hes promised to paying subscribers then he shouldnt be charging subscriptions.

Whats the website addresd for saddlesoap? I havnt been on it fr a while...for the exact reason that has been mentioned. Its really slow! But would like to go back and have a look. There are so many sites that you can advertise for free on though, so why pay?! (unless its horsequest or something similar of course...)

I too paid out £10 with the promise of many perks including the breeding database. If I had known this was all just a sham I wouldn't have bothered. Has any form of communication been made regarding this?
Just to add if I wanted to sell a pony I would rather invest in a proper advertising site.
Not free? Well if this is a site that gets paid for they must be having a laugh - I am the owner of my own FREE forum and rarely experience any problems and we have just as many active members, if not more!

I am also a £10 paid up Gold member but unlike others here I am quite happy with SS. I have met some amazing people on there and bought and sold several ponies. Yes it has its problems which are irritating at times but hey - life isn't straight forward is it? The board owner is a busy person and while I would have wanted to see the database up and running by now it isn't. There is obviously a good reason for it, of which I am happy to wait to be resolved. The subscription is a 1 off fee not annual so for you lot who have paid then at least you won't have to pay again.

I agree with Phillppa i also am a paid up memger of s/s and even though problems may sometimes arise it is worth sticking with it, unlike some other forums s/s and their moderators do an excellent job of removing malicious comments.

Okay chaps, please don't use this forum to slate another one. We've heard some comments from both sides and now I'm going to close the thread.
