When i was on a livery yard years ago we got it, shut the yard down for three months, one pony got it with the trade mark abcess, two got it with out including my old show pony, she was quite poorly for a week. It's a pain, people are so ignorant as well, treat you like a leper!!!

Thankfull we have had 3 clear swabs back so we are in the clear ish, we are just waiting on a DNA test to come back to make sure we are definatley in the clear, thankfully there was only ever one horse that had it, and it was put in isolation as soon as it came back from the yard where it had been for schooling...We have been able to carry on riding as normal just obviously not off the yard, i didnt realise how much i would miss showing tho... fingers crossed the DNA comes back all clear as i have no idea what is going to happen if it comes back negative as that would mean he will be a carrier... Lisa was he carrying it or was he still showing all the signs and symtoms for 18months??
