maybe they want another ride because they only have a novice that is having so time off, or their pony is injured and off for the season. maybe they want a ride on a different type of pony aswell, i have a section A but i've always wanted a show pony but we couldnt have one so know i have a ride on one which i am very grateful for and the pony is gorgeous. think about it, how many people are going to be looking for a jockey at the end of the season ?? very few. wait until the beginning of next year and put up a new advert. you have to come across professionally at all times, anything on the internet with your name on it could be seen by anyone looking you up if they would like you to ride for them. make your fb profile private, and google yourself to see if it comes up. make an album of you riding the ponies you have, that you can give people a link to or in a book if you go to see a pony to ride. good luck xx

TBH, if people want to look for a ride, it's up to them. There could be 100's of reasons why they may want a ride & still have their own pony...Pony could be too small, too young, injured, ill, on loan ect ect. I maybe looking for a ride but only because my Section A is out on loan & does no longer need major schooling as he is schooled as much as he needs to be, I'm out of class on my coloured so that only leaves me with my very novicey SHP who will only be doing Open 143cm SHP (Won several times this season) & PBA. Therefore I would like a Large breed M&M to either, school for flats, bring into WH or just carry on with their current schooling.
If you could get a ride on a nice little pony, doesn't have to be a world beater, take it out to a couple of little shows & then 1 or 2 bigger shows, you won't have to keep asking for rides. If you stand out, people may be looking for a little jockey & will come to YOU. This is how I have got my rides in the past.

as said above there could be lots of reasons my pony is up for sale/full loan (as you know) and i am probably getting a youngster to bring out next year, but this of course means endless novice classes etc and no major qualifications so i'd like the ride of a large breeds m&m to chase the quals on

Tabby was the only person who replied to my add for a jockey she got on well with the pony and i get on well with her and her mum it now turns out that my girls may get to show her section a so its a win win situation and everyones happy she always comes across as very professional and clearly loves my pony and is very grateful to ride him .

Now I am going to be very honest with you because you must realise there may be reasons they get a pony before you and my comment is meant to be helpful.
You have come across to me in this thread as petulant and 'it isn't fair' type of girl and that isn't attractive. Owners want a rider with appealing qualities and throwing toys isn't one.
You have to be much more careful how you put things out on a public forum.

You need to work hard to get rides, explore new avenues, get your face seen, take on rides that you don't necessarily want - no-one is handed it on a plate....

Why dont you try and find a local yard to help out at in exchange for rides and get more general experience and in the mean time just keep looking around for a pony on loan or to show that way when you see one you can show you are commited as you have been working around horses. Ive got a couple of girls riding for me at the moment both have never owned ponies but have worked every hour they possibly could at a Riding School and have ended up being the most helpful and willing people Ive ever had around the horses. Some times you just have to accept the rough with the smooth and enjoy every contact you can get with the horses and things will start to work out eventually.
