I just won this show class and i thought with my prize money i will treat my pony to i nice turnout rug. I got her a WeatherBeeta Orican Freestyle Detach-A-Neck Heavy rip stop , strong , breathable . my horse likes to tear her rugs so i thought this strong one should last well turned her out it looked great. Went back she ripped she both the sides and the whole neak cover. I moaned and groaned went out and bought one from tesco. The one from tesco was the best i ever back she has not ripped it once

Thats always the way, my horse used to do the exact same thing and I stopped buying expensive rugs. Found that derby house rugs were quite hard wearing and didn't cost the earth

I like Masta's for their really good strong leg strap clips! I've not bought a new rug for quite a while, buy them off Ebay, had some right bargains this year, my youngsters grow out of them too quickly! Sold loads on Ebay to, so buying the rugs have'nt really cost me anything cause used the money from selling to do the buying!
I've got a right rug buying fettish! All mine have, a fly rug, fleece, under rug with neck, under rug without neck, lightweight turnout, mediumweight turnout, heavyweight turnout and heavyweight turnout with neck! Then the show ponies also have travel rugs for all weathers, fleece, cotton and woolen! Think I need professional help!! LOL

I think it depends on the build of your horse, I had a 16hh cob type and masta's fitted him well cos they have big shoulders and are deeply cut where as my arab is fine and masta's swamp her:)

I bought a summer turnout from Tesco - it was rubbish - It is the only rug by boy has ever damaged. Cheap and nasty in my opinion!
