Its back to the daily grind so I am wondering what everybodys New Year Resolutions will be?
I always vow to be a better person, then fail miserably. I vow to give up drinking, but that never lasts so will try to at least not drink during the week........but dont hold your breath.
My big horse resolution is to never buy another pony but just have them on loan as they never seem to move on but stay here!
My one selfish wish is to lose weight as I have some lovely clothes I can no longer fit into!!

Lol overbent - my advice is just not to stop smoking at all from what you tell us!!!!!! lol.
I am NOT giving up smoking for 2007 - I will do it when I am ready!! lol
I AM going to get Raydar and friends out to more than 1 show in 2007!!!!
I AM NOT going to fall for any of the foals we have due. All will be for sale!!
I AM NOT going to buy any rugs/brushes for the ponies, the ones I have really won't melt if they are washed I am sure!!!
I AM NOT going to buy myself any more jackets - I think I have shares in Joules (it is really no good living so close to a Joules outlet store!!!)

Good grief I thought I was the only person who bought more brushed when the first ones got dirty!
I am going to clean the lorry out after every show (and not the night before the next one) and wash all the bandages and stuff immediately.
I am going to arrive in plenty of time at shows and not think because they are just down the road, I can leave at the last minute.
I am going to sort out the tack room and sell the things I hav't used in twenty years on ebay - anyone want a collection of fifty unusual bits?!!
I am going to muck out the fields more regularly so that its not such a big job.
Oh and drink less, eat less, spend less, clen the house more often and the usual stuff!!

I WILL stop smoking at some stage just not today I WILL get the youngsters out to a show. I know they should be allowed to be babies but hell they are 3 and 2 now and have never been to a show I WILL get some good lessons and stop riding like a deranged halfwit in the ring I WILL stop buying ponies. Getting withdrawal symptoms because we are down to 4 is silly. 4 is more than enough for anyone particularly when you see 2 above!!! I MAY contemplate doing some work. Ha ha

Good grief I thought I was the only person who bought more brushed when the first ones got dirty! No definately not - if it gets dirty buy a new one was my motto for the past however many years but your tack room sounds like mine so I am also going to have a good clearout and keep 2 (or maybe 3!!) rugs per pony. Thats 6 each then (3 stable & 3 turnout) then there are the show rugs (3 travel ones for winter, 3 travel ones for summer) then the ones for after bathing (another 3) then the ones for the night before a show (to go under stable rugs) OK - So after my clearout I will have 18 rugs per pony - X that by 8 = Keeping 144 rugs!! Aahh blissYou lot might think I am joking but I have about double that amount!!!!! With regards the brushes - Hmmm well, my other half must have had a sneaky look on here cos he got me some pink oster brushes - I MUST WASH THEM, I cannot afford to replace them when they get mucky!!!!!!

I resolve to devote time to neglected children -- my own. I will cook more meals and bake at least once this year. I will try to make more time for OH and spend slightly less with the ponies I will answer my works e-mail with the same enthusiasm with which I answer my personal e-mail. I will stop sending e-mail, Instant Messages and be on the phone at the same time with the same person. I will endeavor to not get behind at work due to the amount of time spent on horsegossip When I hear a funny joke I will not reply, "LOL... LOL!" outloud. I will change all my bank/credit card passwords to the same password so hours are not wasted re-establishing security settings as I can never remember which password is for what I will make an attempt to clean the house, wash clothes, and plan dinner before even thinking of the Horse gossip I will sit down and start writing my xmas cards now so they are done in time for next christmas I will read a book...if I still remember how. I will try and get out of the house at least once a week, if it is necessary or not. I will get our rescued cob to a show and come home with a Rosette for Best Conditioned, not bothered what colour I will remember birthdays I will too try to not buy things for the ponies I dont need and will wear things out and wash them...... Will stick to my diet BIG STYLE - we could have a online weighthingychers for any members wanting to diet with a weekly weigh in Overbent My sons sat nav is Ozzy Osbourne - OH hates it with a vengeance, I lent it and tried it out whilst sat at my desk at work - got in to big trouble as I switched it on and it swore, door open and directors heard - old school and not impressed - gave work colleagues a good giggle though at my expense. Feth.. PM me about the bits - I collect them and have them hanging from our beams Jules ..Hope you have a wonderful 2007, make loads of doch, have new central heating fitted in your office, and win loads

Thanks for the good wishes Lolly - I saw a complete rainbow today and wished, though with the bills that have come in today obviously not in time! To top it all our notalorrydog Poppy is absolutely huge so her puppy due date of Jan 12th must be wrong so am frantically trying to think of a suitable place for her to have them in..husband thinks they should go in the front porch! I ask you - and him an Oxford Graduate!!!!! Its only 4ft wide by 8ft and she's a BIG Labradoodle - can you imagine how big the puppies will be? I have no experience of birth in any shape or form (I had an elective caesarian and was out for the count for my only child) so am an absolute wreck about the whole thing anyway. Last night we had a Leftover Dinner Party to clean out my fridge so the non drinking went out the window ( by 5.30pm as well!) Oh dear!

I was a complete wreck with ours but found the main thing was keeping them warm the first few weeks. House was like a sauna. I got up the first few nights a couple of times to check they were ok and put them on the mum to suckle. I enjoyed every single minute and miss them loads now.
Good Luck and we want pics.

As I have very little chance of fulfilling my first resolution I am going to try not to drop my cane in lead rein classes!

I agree with you traveller that your first resolution may be a bit hard for you but it would be nice to see you complete your show still holding your cane! Keep up the practice and RUN.

Yes, I think you look fabulous running around a ring and there is nothing better than standing at the ringside and watching an old pro in action. ( thats a profesional not the other kind of pro!!)Please change your last resolution to : I will not be late again, tricky I know but give it a go.
