I will second that. I was informed that bhs exams etc will be worthwhile but a degree comes second to direct experience. Plus uni is very expensive and leaves u in so much debt. Believe me, i know

Hi Go to uni if you want, there is negativity in everything you study, yes hands on is beneficial in every career. You can study for anything and not find employment in that field but if you work hard and pursue things you will get there. Any degree is fab, you can fast track in certain careers with what ever degree you have as long its a good pass. Good luck and go for what you want.

Thanks still go... but just do something that will truely benefit you in this economy!! animal science?? biology etc? what intrests you? if its what you want to do = do it....but ive heard that many stories (first hand) of people saying it was a waste of time its unreal i almost did that degree FWIW..!... but decided against it and now doing business. look on yardandgroom.co.uk ..... some people offer training on the job... saves the debt and you willl proabbyl be better off weekly with wages imo.

Its not on your list but i would recomend Cirecester uni. I'm in my first year there doing international equine and agricultural business management and it pretty much covers everything! its like 7 different subjects, It covers equine science, equine industry, animal science, business finance accounting, business environment, spanish (you choose what language you want to do) Food nutrition, soil environment and i think theres more just can't think right now also the night life is amazing and im having the time of my life! In my 2nd year as part of my course we go to kentucky for 6 weeks. This monday I'm visiting a racehorse stud. At the end of the 1st year if you don't want to persue the equine side you can drop it and do more business instead. Also my coursework for equine industry is on showing! couldn't get any better would highly recomend it xx

I must be an exception to what you all say. I got a BSc Hons in Equine Science and Business Mgt and have always worked in the industry and am now very established in the industry. If I did the same job in the human pharmacuteical industry I would be on at least 4 times the amount I am on now, but the job is very enjoyable and rewarding!
