What happened to everyone not joining PUK this year so that they will have to listen to what we want, thay will never listen if you all support them and join this year. lets make a stand we all have to make sacrafices to get things back to how they were before it all went down hill, the glory days are gone forever if everone moans but rejoins this year.

I agree that puke has gone downhill but strongly belive that it has perhaps gone forever. It is never going to be a prestigious as it once was as people with higher quality animals, producers, etc will not fork out the money for it when their are other societies such as bsps available. By boycotting puke the only thing it will achieve is it will be come more of a society for riding club level animals, as the lesser quality of animals will qualify. If the only member puke are attracting are riding club level then this is the type of classes, etc they will offer. They are not goingto change now to offer the prestige they once had as they no longer have the crowd to go to it.

I made my first trip to PUK Summer Champs this year and I have to say that it is not high on my list of shows to revisit I can't say that any of the publicity the society has gotten in the past 6 months has been particularly encouraging either

bsps winter is great, but ponies uk summer is by far better than bsps will ever be as its a chance for all to have a laugh, not be so stuck up as i'm sure others will agree. The crap o meter has gone, give puk a chance to make it up , everybody deserves a second chance...

HOORAY for PUK at Towrlands. Couldnt make it last year but will definately be there this year.
Yes, they make mistakes, but they TRY NEW THINGS - as to all animals being riding club level, poo! Went to Great Chart Shows who run all PUK classes and although entries not large, nearly every class had HOYS or Olympia ponies in it. One show of theirs i went to at Golden Cross had 4 HOYS lead reins forward in a PUK Colne.
At least PUK run classes to get ordinary competitors to start entring the big shows - none of the other societies do. If new blood does not come, then showing will become stagnant.
I'm definately going, so are my mates - hope to meet lots of new people up there too. Winning isnt everything and if I dont come last, then you cant come first!

The only reason that the HOYS and Olympia ponies were at the Great Chart Show was to give them a run out, It was not to get a ticket for PUK as after the awful summer champs of 2005 we never return. Golden Cross is on our doorstep so it is an ideal show for us to get the ponies out to . I have no wish to see security guards fighting , worry because a man has tried to get a young girl into his car, try to find marks that have gone missing or have DW ignore me when I try to discuss a problem with her. Those of you who are PUK fans then thats fine but our ponies will not be going.

well said cake NOT all HOYS/OLYMPIA ponies are pot hunting shows down south are very far or few between we have no choice but to compete when and where we can!!! if people would only ask why we are in the class rather than poo poo us behind are backs maybe showing would be a lot nicer

Nope! For the first time since the Winter Chamsp started, I'll not be going! Towerlands though undoubtedly a superb venue, is just way too far for me to go singlehandedly with ponies, dogs etc!
I went last year and had a very successful show as we normally do at P(UK), but I had two girls to help - no such possibility this year so not even bothered to try and qualify!

Haven't been to Towerlands since revamp but always a good venue. However it was always bl***y freezing there indoors or out even in the summer. Have competed in the menege during April in snowstorms classes so big they had to split sec D's from others in mixed M&Ms. Sincerely hope they revamped the loo's, trailor floor was always more appealing

Towerlands is a fantastic venue and one of the only ones I think that has heating for the indoor area around all of the seating areas. The arenas are amazing to ride on and the stables are huge. Definitely making the trip thereregardless of who is running the show.
