Our fixed rate (EON Fix Online 3) is due to end at the end of this month. I did some research on what is available and came across Fix Online 8 - www.electricityprices.org.uk/...-fix-online-8/I rang Eon to ask them if they could do a comparison for me between Fix Online 4 (which is what they are offering me online as the cheapest alternative) and Fix Online 8. The Eon Chap tried to deny there is such a thing as Fix Online 8, it stops at Fix Online7. I advised him that I found online the unit prices and discounts for Fix Online 8. He mumbled and admitted it exist but he can't do any calculations for me, but if I wanted to change to Fix Online 8 to just call them back. OK, so I did it myself, based on the calculations Eon put on my last bill a few days ago on what my next 12 months usage would be. I know this isn't accurate but at least gives me something to work on as a base. Well surprise surprise, Fix Online 8 comes out cheaper then Fix Online 4 So why did he have to be so secretive about it? I feel that I have been given wrong information saying Fix Online 4 is the cheapest for me when it clearly isn't....

E-on contacted us and told us that they were much cheaper than Npower who we are currently with. They gave me the unit price and after a bit of a calculation excersise using my last bill and the excact amounts of units we had used, they came out at £40 more expensive - for just the one bill. So when they rung me back I told them my findings. They said it was very good that I had done the calculations, but I was wrong! I asked them how I could be wrong when they had told me the unit prices and I calculated the a mount using the actual number of units we had used. They couldn't explain that, just kept insisting I was wrong and they were much cheaper - YEAY RIGHT! Needless to say I stuck with Npower!

Npower are just as useless, i signed with them as we are on the key meter and they told me there was no standard charge. For three years i was with them they were charging me 3.87 a week standing charge. I realised when i changed companies, they didnt even give me an apology and said there was nothing they could do about it. Then had the cheek to send me a letter threatening court action as i apparently owed them £25!!!!! How did they manage that when i pre-pay for my gas? IDIOTS!!
