ok so if your pony is under six years old it is a novice regardless of its wins UNLESS it has been placed in the first five placings of RIHS/ HOYS a pony in its 6th year or above will be "de-noviced" if it wins 3 open bsps qualifying classes the number of novice classes a pony wins is irrelevant hope this helps

But pony can be an open flat pony and a novice whp !!!! and vice versa Yes!! A pony can win the RI or HOYS as a shp & be a novice whp as long as it hasn't been placed in the top 5 as a whp at HOYS or the RI or won 3 classes after it was 6 & vice versa!

Our pony has been to RIHS and HOYS (not placed in top 5), won 1 open BSPS and won HOYS Qual, went champion. Won Novice Class at Champs and went Champion. By reading info above I would take this as my pony can still do novice classes, is this right?

Yup - sounds like still a novice! We went to RI, were placed in Desert Orchid and still went into next season as a novice nursery!! De-noviced first time out, but hey ho! And it can still do SHP as a novice!
