I'm looking for a really special welsh B filly/mare to show inhand and win and to be a foundation broodmare. Must be of medal winning quality. Lovely family home assured, stable and paddock with friends waiting! The pony I'm after probably isn't on the open market, but any suggestions as to who might have such a gem tucked away would be very gratefully received. Thanks,

Do you want up to height, smaller, Old fashioned B or more modern Riding pony type, they have changed so much over the years.

Ideally 13hh+ rather old fashioned type with plenty of depth and bone but without being coarse, must have extravagant movement and a pretty head buyt still 'welsh' looking
I don't want is the RP type that could be shown in plaited classes with spindly legs...Hope that makes sense!

Makes perfect sense Sophie, but very difficult to find, we looked last year for a stallion version of what you are looking for and found one at the end with a £10000 price tag! We have a breeder up here who breeds what you are looking for but I dont know what he has at the moment. he is an elderly gent and not on the internet etc . he has the Wian Stud of welsh ponies. Im sure you could find him through the WPCS website or office. he is called Mr williams.

Hi sophieb!
just wondering if you have found a B mare yet?
Sounds like I may have the exact pony you are looking for the only thing is I'm just not sure if I want to sell her, she is the sweetest pony and a joy to own it would really have to be a 5* home. I can tell you more about her if you wish?

Hi!
Well where shall I start, The pony was sent to me in march 07 for breaking, I liked her so much I brought her. she was 8yrs old (so a late starter due to being used as a brood mare) I thought being 8 she may not be that straight forward but she took everything in her stride and just got on with what was asked. Then at the end of may when her fatty belly kept getting bigger while she was on restricted grazing I found out she had a bun in the oven (what a shock) the breaking was put on hold and she had a healthy late colt born at the end of aug. He is due to be weened next month and then I was undecided whether or not to put her back in foal or continue breaking her. As I said before I'm really not sure if I want to sell her but if I new it was to the right home I would consider it. She is 13.hh all black with a 1 white sock and a star, she has the sweetest nature and is a beautiful eye catching pony with 2 foals to date (that I know of)although she has not proved herself in the show ring I am 100% sure she will excel. I could send you some pictures if you want? What would your plans be for the pony if you were interested? Amo.
