Wondered if everyone have read the new rules for 2011, especially about Qual for RIHS and Lead Reins and wondered if anybody had any comments?

Yes I saw them, does this mean that the lead rein jockies are no longer allowed to hold the saddle?
Surely knotting the reins and letting the child hold the saddle is better for the ponies mouths rather than the child using the ponies mouth to balance ?

what are the new rules ?? internet won't let me open them so could someone explain please. if lr jockeys cant hold the saddle or have knots then that restricts what we can do with one jockey.

ah ok so we can knot the reins at the ends as they are slightly to long for pony but not where jockey holds them and she can still hold the saddle in trot. is that right ? thanks for putting them up by the way x

so less chance of me qualifying my 2 then bsps are making themselves so elitist, you have to be able to afford to register and do qualifiers then presumably now qualification goes down to 3rd which at most of the qualifiers i saw this year were all producers with ponies that had already qualified.

I am confused by the rules, they seem contradicting to me, i must be reading it wrong! No probs Tabby, sorry i can't explain it for you! BSPS are a complete joke tbh! Are they trying to make us all completely skint?! What do they do with their money, there shows are no better than any other society!

I was a bit confused too! Does it mean that the individual reins (ie left and right one) can each have a knot in but that the two reins cannot be knotted together?? Lots of little jockies can't hold a knot in each rein as their hands are too small...

Lots of little jockies can't hold a knot in each rein as their hands are too small... you could try shoelace reins which are really fine so the knots will only be small for little hands
