Hi there.... My 16 mth old cat has been off her food , generally feeling sorry for herself for a couple of days......she has been sick a couple of times , but she does hunt and before I take her off to the vet , I wondered if anyone had any remedies I could try , to help her to feel better..... I have been getting her to take small amounts of water , so she doesn't dehydrate but i have to force her as she doesn't seem interested in eating or drinking ....

I think the vets would be your best bet as she might have enteritis from the sound of things

Second the vet - if they're not drinking they're really not happy kittens, it's how I noticed my cat's tongue was torn in two by our neighbours cat - he couldn't lap water or wash or eat.
Highly unlikely so please don't panic, but I was listening to the radio in the car the other day and there was a terrible story about alot of cats being poisoned with anti freeze - I think it was further down in the southwest than you are - but I'd better be safe than sorry. They know there were 30 cases at least but think it may be more than 60 as alot of people don't put two and two together.
More likely to be a dodgy mouse, but if it's been a while I'd pop to the vet.

She is better , eating well and not being sick , the only thing is its like someone has given her chill pill ! She has gone from being a naughty pickle of a cat always bringing in 'presents' but recently she has calmed right down and sleeps a lot more and is happy to curl up on the sofa/bed with us , whereas before she was always out !! We prefer her this way , just strange that she has changed so much in such a short space of time . We did take her to vet , no high temp or blockages , so brought her home and she did start eating again that day.

Our cat goes like this when he needs worming, is sick and off colour, sleeps a lot, he is quite the hunter, much to my disgust, so gets wormed which he hates with a vengence, and then within 24 hours is back to normal again, hope this helps.

Happy to help
The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his Tongue.

if cat is a hunter it's possible that he's eaten a poisoned mousy....
