16hh chestnut mare for sale
5 years
Spice is a very level headed young horse who is lovely natured.
She is an absolute superstar in all respects,, has been backed by me and ridden by a teenager. She is an incredibly safe ride and a real gentle giant. She has given confidence to my very novice 13 yr old stepdaughter who is very nervous after a few bad falls off her own pony, and even though she looks like a pea on a drum, feels completely safe. She is good to catch, load, travel, with farrier annd dentist. She is barefoot and has excellent feet. She likes to be groomed and fussed and clipped for the first time with no problems. Wormed to date.
She hacks out with others quite happily and will go out by herself as well. She is the type of horse that if another horse bolted she would just wait politely for the next instruction. If a group of you are cantering you can pull her up and she is sensible watching the others carry on. She isnt a spooky horse at all and is used to farm machinery. She hacks alongside a major road with only a fence between her and the traffic. She is a yard favourite and anyone can ride her with confidence. Although safe she is not a boring plod or kick along, just a genuine honest big girl.
She has 3 lovely paces and is very light on her feet for such a big girl with a superb ground covering trot. She walks, trots and canters quite happily in the school and i have started to do some proper work with her. She has been taken slowly and correctly and have been in no rush to make her work in an outline etc. She happily goes over trotting poles and has popped the odd stile on hacks but jumping isnt my thing at all. Terrifies me so have left that to her new owner.
She is a solid weight carrying horse who will suit a novice or a more experienced rider to bring on. Very striking to look at too. She would make a nice maxi cob clipped out but also suits her hair. She will be an ideal family horse, happyhacker or a riding club horse.
Very very very sad sale as would love to keep her, but a change in direction dictates i cant. A 5* home only for this absolute superstar please.
