Hi Yes know how you feel, I make hoods and suits and the material varies from 7-13 quid a metre plus my time velcro electric and cotton, small- med need 3 metres hood 2 and large 4m and yes they want for nothing, they would not do it, I hardly get my money back, I do it because I am helping people and like doing it, but sometimes PEOPLE! say they;re having one and you do not see money. I would not do it!

they will be the same people who would expect someone to pay good money if they were to sell something, its the same with selling horses, if someone is not willing to pay the price advertised why do they bother saying they only want a bargain? there are plenty equines available in rescue centres for loan if someone doesn't want to pay, but they don't want that they want quality without even paying a quarter of what it costs to breed and raise properly
if you can't afford something then you can't and there's no point expecting you should have it be it tack, equipment or horses!

I had the same with a buyer who had hundreds of photos of a 3yr old(knew the price in 1st email) This pony was never unplaced at county level then she turns round and said it was too expensive she thought she could have it cheaper - WHY?? I said I had a nice 2yr old unshown but very nice which was 1/2 the price but no she wanted that one for her small budget. She then had the cheek to tell me I should be grateful to have a genuine buyer

I would normally expect a little "haggle room" in a price, and price those I have to sell accordingly, but not a vast decrease in price. Anyone who is desperate to sell will have priced it cheaply in the first place. While I do agree with KJM about the cost of production you need a willing seller and buyer to agree a price for the animal to change hands.
