Next year will be my first foal that I have ever bred. Mum is a bay reg connemara and dad is the Scoundrel, CHAPs and BSPA graded 15hand traditional, so in an ideal world I would like a 15hander show hunter or worker. Trying not to think about it too much as its not due till May, but she is blooming

honeypot it sounds like you will have a lovely foal the first foal is always the worse.... I remember with our first foal sitting up for weeks and weeks as it happened our mare went way over 12months before deciding her wanted to foal but to make it worse the one night we went in the house and she thought it would be nice to foal... now we just look for the signs and leave them quite but it's so hard when you wait so long for them lol Tessy wooppsss I didn't look (rolls eyes in embarressment)

We have our first ever foal due in April. Mum is a small hunter (so beautiful, I just stand and stare at her!) and dad is Amour G, coloured warmblood, he won the BSPA superstar in hand championship twice. We're hoping for a show hunter/ sports horse and plan to do the county shows with mum and baby this summer, just so excited, trying not to get carried away though in case anything goes wrong!

Well guys i'm also awaiting my first foal from my 1st pony in May too. She is a super star, welsh cob mare and daddy was supposed to be Bazaars Chief but she didn't take to him so had his nephew instead He is called Burnock Unique and that he is!! He's a Perlino registered sport horse being mostly TB. So foalie will be pally or buckskin Had her blood tested this week to put my mind at rest and it's positive 5 1/2 months to go This is mum last week And this was her in action Anything half as good as my girl and i'll be pleased. Just hope all goes well.

Still living out but are coming in at the end of Jan so i can moniter and feed properly. They are both welsh sec C in foal to our Colt so we're hoping to show at least one of them, The mares are D'abernon Fantasy and Sackville Ramona

Thought this was an interesting link. www.shenandoahmini.com/fetaldevelopment.htmlI have read Foal to Full Grown from cover to cover several times but I do like these comparasons. My mare was very deep before she was pregnant she is now very flat on top. it doesn't help that she likes to eat everyon elses food and is such a b***h they let her.
