Please make sure you read these rules before any comments are made-
MOUNTAIN & MOORLAND SUPREME RIDDEN CHAMPIONSHIP
1. There must be five classes at each Qualifying Show with the exception of Breed Shows.
The wording for these classes must be as follows:-
"The NPS/Baileys Horse Feeds Mountain & Moorland Supreme Ridden (Olympia) Pony of the Year". To be judged under the Rules of The National Pony Society.
Competition Record Cards ARE NOT required for 2007. Before entering open Qualifying Rounds owners must be adult/showing members of the National Pony Society and must show their membership card before entering the ring (Breed Shows excepted)
These Classes are open to stallions, mares and geldings FIVE years old or over which must be registered in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Books.

First and second ponies in each class compete for the Championship when the Champion Pony on:
a) presentation of the qualifying rosette, then
b) provided the Adult/Showing membership card is produced, by the Rider, in the Ring, will be deemed the pony to go forward to the Final at Olympia in December. Only one pony may qualify in each qualifying round.
c) Qualification will have to be verified by the NPS Secretariat.
Where more than 20 ponies of any breed are forward then the class may be divided. The Judge should divide the class according to the circumstances at the time. Prize money and rosettes should be provided for the new class.
2. At the Final Riders must be members of the NPS.
3. No pony will be eligible to enter the Competition if the breeder or a previous owner will be judging the Funal.
4. Qualifying Rounds will be open to all breeds with the exception of Breed Qualifying Rounds where entries will be restricted to that Breed.
5. (a) Ponies to be trimmed only within their Breed Society specification. Manes must not be plaited and tails must not be braided. Judges must take special note of this.
(b) In the Final, ponies may be clipped or trimmed at the Competitor's discretion to individual Breed Rules.
6. Exhibitors of ponies qualifying for the Final must forward a current J.M.B. Height Certificate to the Secretary within six weeks of qualifying.
7. A pony may only qualify once. After qualifying, a pony is ineligible to compete at further Qualifying Rounds with the exception of its own Breed Qualifying Round.
At Breed Qualifying Rounds, when the first placed pony has previously qualified, the pony standing next in line which has not qualified will be deemed the qualifier. When a Championship is held if the Champion has previously qualified the Reserve Champion, which has not qualified, will be deemed the qualifier. Qualifying status must go no lower than first reserve.
QUALIFYING SHOWS
8. Minimum prize money to be awarded in each class:-
1st £10; 2nd £8; 3rd £5; 4th £3.
A minimum of six rosettes to be awarded in each class.
9. Judges are not allowed to take Probationer Judges when judging M & M Supreme Ridden Qualifying Rounds (including Breed Shows).
10. The Judge must be a member of either The National Pony Society's Mixed Mountain & Moorland Judges Panel or the Ridden Panel of the Breed concerned.
11. Qualifying Rounds must be judged by one Judge only; the only exception to this are the qualifying rounds held at the NPS Summer Championship Show, which may be judged by two Judges.
Please note that NPS Mixed Mountain & Moorland Judges must have spent 2 years on the Main Mixed Mountain & Moorland "A" Panel before they are eligible to judge a qualifying round for the NPS Mountain & Moorland Supreme Ridden Championship (Olympia). Judges that have been on the A panel for more than 2 years do NOT have (A06) or (A07) after "MM" in the Official List of Judges.
12. The minimum size of the ring for M & M Supreme Ridden Qualifying Rounds (including Breed Shows) must be 40 metres x 50 metres.
13. (a) At the final, marks will be allotted by the Judges, out of the following:-
Riding and Manners - 50
Conformation and Breed Type - 50
(b) At Qualifying Rounds Riding/Manners and Conformation/Breed Type will be judged equally.
Rules for Showing also apply, particularly rules 56 – 65 where applicable.
