KJM her mum is by Vatout (Grand prix dressage Trakehner) and is 16-1hh Her dad is the georgeous Aimbrey Chester who is 15hh.
Gracie has got substantial bone and very deep front inherited from her mother and granddad.
I am tempted to go Arab next time to see if I can lighten the foal down as in the previous 2 babies they have followed their mama.

Over a week ago I put Toffee, (Gracies mum) Cookie (Gracies sister) and Dotty (a lovely loan mare) back in the neighbouring field to where the foals and ponies have been since weaning. Having paid very little attention other than the 2 foals giving foalie kisses to Toffee over the fence (who showed no interest) I was relieved to know weaning has been completed.
For the last week all has been fine - until last night. When doing evening feeds, my OH and I were greeted by 7 very smug horses of differnt shapes and sizes that included the 2 foals in one field (the wrong one). With Tansie our veteran Sec A in another field (all on her own like Billy No Mates) wearing a 'This so wasnt me expression' but as she was also in the wrong field I'm not so sure!
I use the term 'fields' loosely as they have broken through three fences - and in doing so had left posts everywhere. We sorted them out and made the fencing safe and told them all they had been very naughty.
Anyway, today we have spent the whole afternoon putting everything back in order. The foals and ponies field has been extended onto the remaining grass and all fence posts checked and electric tape replaced. My OH was really helpful and only moaned once!
Across the fields, peace and quiet has resumed. I am still no clearer to how or why what happened did, but thats horses.... PS - Gracie and Velvet are both fine even though Uncle Smartie does think playing Catch is huge fun.

I have the picture of the smirks they all must have had firmly ingrained now and keep giggling at the thought of it! It also helps that I know your fields and what your 'few posts' would mean, lol!

I have just been to see Velvet again. She looks like a racehorse foal, not a posh warmblood !!!
She has grown everywhere, but looks lanky and unimpressive BUT - her coat feels like "velvet" she is shining like a new pin and she is extremely happy/healthy.
Many many thanks to HTP for being such a good foster mother to her - hopefully she will return to her former beauty at some stage in her growth spurts .........LOL

It was lovely to see you and Sam today. Both foals walked back to the field tonight beautifully and went straight to NannyTansie and Grandad HTP to tell them all about their day (and to eat their hay LOL).

Havent posted much about the 2 girls lately. They are both doing well and still pretty insperable as the following pics show. They do have older company with them but they do tend to be together. With the warm weather they are out naked as much as possible. Velvets tail is growing - albeit slowly. Gracie continues to grow all over. Hopefully she will stop adding to her bone and start to develop a neck. These were taken this morning on my phone: As you can see even with 5 acres to choose from they still like being together.

HTP has to take all the credit for how well they look. Whenever we go to visit Velvet, we always groom her for ages, but TBH, she is never exactly dirty of lacking in care !!!
HTP and young megan are superstars xxx
