Is anyone else out there as bad as me? I've just got back from oldest son's school concert. Now I always have a little cry at the nativity play, it's away in a manger that does it, but I thought I might be OK tonight, just an evening of musical entertainmant. WRONG!!!!! Two teeny little girls singing 'over the rainbow'. One of the mothers was in floods in the row in front of me. Off I went, fishing through the handbag for a clean tissue. Friend was laughing her socks off at me. Got over that one, then the school choir came on. Little blond angelic looking boy, who I happen to know is being brought up in a children's home, singing 'You Raise Me Up'. Not a dry eye in the place. Then a medley from Oliver, guess who's singing the part of the little orphaned boy? It's a wonder they didn't issue a flood warning!!! Is it just me? Do you think I should ask the doctor for some happy pills?

Hi Milliesmum, its not just you its a mummy thing!! I always cry at the school concerts and stuff, this year's worst was the easter service and my little boy was Peter. I howled when he sang his 2 solos, and when the choir sand "What a wonderful world!!!" I always think it makes you stop and think how quickly they are growing up and how life sometimes feels like its passing you by too quickly!! I just say we should savour every moment, and not be afraid to cry, as all too soon - those moments will be gone!! Well there you go - crying again

Thanks! I always have a cry at christmas, but it kind of caught me by surprise tonight. I'm sure they know what they're doing though when they give out the solo's!!

Why in this day and age should any child be in a childrens home !!!!!!!! its so sad sadly its a fact. Some children prefer to be in a home. we have a child/adolescent in our service, who's parent's don't want the young person.. and the young person does NOT want to be in forset care. So the only option is a childrens home. Sad, I know but the young person's wishes have to be the first priority

This one from what I can gather has behavioural difficulties, he has one to one at school, and there is only a mum, no dad on the scene, and I think mum has trouble looking after herself, let alone a child . . .

You deserve a medal flash for the job you do I would want to take them all home, it makes me a bit humble I brought my son up on my own and feel very luck to never have had a sleepless night or any problems. Its easy to blame the parents but they havnt invented the child rearing rule book yet (or the remote).
