what to wear??

Can anyone kindly help me please, its my daughters first year doing ridden showing on her 13.2hh welsh x arab, she will be doing show pony classes, part bred arab and any other classes that are suitable for her I only normally show welsh sec a's so im not sure what my daughter needs to be wearing, also does it matter what colour browband i get the pony? as im wanting to get one of those flashy bling ones ;D help would be hugely appreciated! thankyou xxxx

You'll need a navy jacket insted of a tweed for show ponies, and for part breds-You'll be fine with your usually jods/shirt/tie ect. Obviously, the pony will need to be plaited and trimmed, plus probably have quarter marks for show ponies (Checkerboard + Sharks teeth).
Oh and yes, you'll need a "flashy bling" browband if your doing show ponies, but nothing too OTT!!
In terms of colour of the browband, it depends on the colour of the pony, but steer well clear of pink! Red looks good on Bays and Blacks, wheras Red, Blue and Silver/Gold suit greys-Its more of a case of finding one you like and that suits your pony though.
Your daughter will also need a matching button hole/red carnation.

don't forget canary jodphurs and brown or oxblood jodphur boots
evening performance:navy jacket,white or cream stock,rest as normal x

dont forget elastic on the botton of jods or jodhpur clips for a neat finish

Oh and for evening performances...
Brown Joddie Boots+Top hats=BIG No Go IMO..Stick to your usual velvet riding hat if your wearing jodphur boots in evening performances.
