I can't see that she's going to have enough room to foal, it's a very small stall they have her in. How can you tell she's lame??

it concerns me that this mare is indeed in a small stall! but she doesnt get any out time!!!!!!!! our mares love to waddle round the field and graze it keeps them fit and healthy!!! When mares are this close to foaling they like to roll to get the foal into the correct presentation this stall is way to small for this mare to roll safely. Its not a good example of mare and foal safety and the mare is very lame!!!!!! I feel sorry for her!

What is it with the Americans expecting their mares to foal in a shoe box?

LEAVE HER ALONE FOR GOODNESS SAKE!!!! I don't believe it TWO people have just been in grooming her. highhill, the other mare hadn't foaled up to the time their computer crashed! Went back to watch , she looked as though she was about to foal, and would you believe it those 2 people came in yet again & started fussing over her. Poor girl, she looks as though she's getting pretty stressed too.

I am sure that mare would foal if they gave her some peace.

Not sure what other people think but I am getting quite uncomfortable with some of these webcams foalings. The owners seem so obsessed with a) getting in on the act and b) manipulating the mare so her bottom is pointing towards the camera that overall it it doesn't look like a very peaceful or natural experience for the mare. When they took the mare out and the man put in some more straw the amount of straw was so pitiful that it wasn't worth doing but I supposed it looked good for the camera!

Lovely foal, but why the rug. Doesn't nature provide a good enough coat? Insulating properties don't work properly when a rug is used, it flattens the coat so air can't be trapped to create warmth. Also I think it can upset the bonding between mare & foal.

The mare has STILL got her tail bandage on, she'll end up losing her tail if they're not careful.

Tail bandage is off, but she's a bit of a madam with her foal, doesn't let her drink much :-(

Mare still not happy about letting the foal suckle. At least they've taken the rug off, now I'd like to see an empty stable and those 2 outside stretching their legs!

There's another mare on this camera now, not sure how close she is but don't think I'm up for a marathon mare watching episode!
