I am panicking. Why
If everything goes through ok we are moving house, dogs and horses to a place called Grayingham, which I have only ever been to once when we went to look around the house we are buying. Not even sure where it is, moving to be near OH job...
Why am I panicking:
1. When will I find time to actually pack, move horses, work full time, and balance family everyday things, we have so much stuff
2. Leaving all my friends, Daughter leaving all her friends as its a hour and a half from where we live now, and she is getting worried she will be billy no mates
3. Not really sure where I am going to keep horses, although vendor of house says we will be able to rent a paddock down road, we do have stables with house ( but they need work)
4. Got to find another job, but cant till I actually know when we are actually moving ( need to work full time to pay for nags)
5. None of my furniture will actually fit in likkle cottage we have bought, we live in a georgean house at moment and rooms tall and big. gosh we have so much clutter
6. No gas cooker (no gas in that area) just a arga you chuck logs on...so much for pizzas etc
7. No shop for miles, the last people had a cow ....just kidding
just worrying worrying worryiing........

You're a mum. It's what we do!!!
Moving house is horrid. But you will get it all done, start collecting cardboard boxes from the supermarket now! If you have outbuildings you will be able to store stuff under cover until you work out what to do with it all. As regards time, make a deal with yourself, pack one box per day. Ask relatives if they can store any non-essential stuff for you just till you're sorted.
Daughter will soon make friends, and there's always the internet to keep in touch with the old ones. I'm sure the horses will settle, as long as they're together and there's grass they won't mind!
Good luck with it all, it will all fall into place I promise! Just deal with one thing at a time and it will seem more manageable.

Calm down, dear, calm down!!! Start now by sorting through stuff and deciding what you can really do without. Get the children to do the same in their rooms. You'll probably have to be pretty drastic - if you haven't used it, worn it or even looked at it for over a year then it has to go. If you can, store it in an outbuilding and then have a garage sale. Advertise it well and you'd be surprised what'll sell!! If you had a tack sale you could advertise it (discreetly of course) on here!! With lighter evenings now, could you drive over there and have a good suss. Take your tape-measure, camera and notebook to measure every room, including the angle of the stairs; there's nothing worse than finding that the lovely old granny's wardrobe won't go up them. Also measure for curtains, whilst you're at it. Make lots of lists, like a very large calendar, working backwards from removal date, (when you know it) so that you know exactly what you must do on each day leading up to the move. Get on the internet and google 'livery stables' in the area. Even if it is a bit expensive it would be well worth while just to be able to put the horses there on a temporary basis until you had something cheaper and permanent worked out. I really do sympathise with your daughter. My Dad was in the RAF and we were always moving every three years. I was always the new kid in school and my uniform was usually slightly wrong because my Mum bought it from a different shop to all the others. Once your daughter has settled in and found that perhaps a few other pupils have horses and ponies, then she'll be well away. I don't know how old she is but I do remember as a child in a new strange area, getting on my bike and going looking for horses - I soon found some and felt a lot better knowing there were lots of horsey people around. There'll probably be a few local shows to visit and if your likkle cottage is in a village then you've got it made - village life is great. Buy a large scale ordnance survey map for the area showing the footpaths and bridleways. Have a good stock of sherry (or whatever works for you) in the house for the end of the day, when you can sit down and tick off all those things which you have managed to do. If you are working full-time then you must be pretty exhausted so enlist the help of everyone, including friends and relatives. Good luck ~ and don't forget to keep us informed as to how it's going ~ when you find the time to come on here!! Nothing is ever as bad as it first appears ~ you'll look back and see how competent and capable you were when it came to organising it all.

Lolly
I will help you as much as I can. You are always there for me in times of need so if I can do the same for you I will.
Stop panicing everything will be fine. Get Lauren a membership to a local riding club so she will make horsey friends. I am sure if you post on here someone will know of a local club.
Knowing you withing a week you will have a whole new circle of friend as you talk to anyone and everyone
dont forget us when you have moved

Good Luck with it all lolly, even though it's a bit of a panic at the moment,it all sounds very exciting.Reassure daughter you are never "billy no mates " when you have ponies and of course the internet makes things so much easier for keeping in touch with old friends. I'm sure Horse Gossipers will rally round if there is anything we can do,like info on the area you are moving to etc.

Glad to be of help, lolly. I noticed in today's H&H that there is an equestrian boot sale at Finmere Market (North Bucks) next Monday Bank Holiday. Just thought it might be ideal for all your unwanted tack, rugs etc. Is it very far from you - are you miles away in the most remote part of Yorkshire or deepest Cornwall?

bit far but thanks I live in Chesterfield/sheffield Border
Not having a good morning either, surveyor due around at 9am, I managed just to unblock toilet with the help of a wooden spoon and peg (doggy d00 collected by OH from garden......before he went to work) which was the worst thing I have ever done, fetch mother to house sit for him coming, and get to work for half seven to find out we are moving offices end of month SO MORE FLIPPING PACKING
It would be so nice to actually have time to sit on my horse

Well spent yesterday having a clear out of total rubbish, ornaments, bits and stuff, and then did a car boot this morning... :-*made £200.00 :-*Had a right laugh, met some real weirdos, and so a bit happier so can now afford sh1tties new bridle and pay towards prom dress......for 16 year old Totally tired out though now from being up at 4am but most importantly made a start on getting rid of some of the clutter.. Only slight downside was my Dad came to help, but after five minutes I lost him,,,,,,after no Dad appearing a hour later I got worried ....asked someone to mind stall while I set of too look for him, no sign and was just starting to panic when he was found asleep in the drivers side of my car ....Bless

Well found the answer to take my mind of everything and stop me panicking, getting all worked up and having a nervous and total breakdown!!!!!! I HAVE BOUGHT ANOTHER HORSE... a big massive unhandled 2.5 year old thoroughbred cross ............. I have called him Edward as he has a big Ed at the moment and its certainly taken my mind of everything.......
