Seahorse, keep your chin up, it's just because it's all new and different and you're out of your comfort zone a little. Just keep telling yourself they wouldn't have given you the job if they weren't confident you were up to it. It's just upsetting when things end, saying goodbye is always sad, have a good cry and get it out of your system.
You'll find your feet in the new job soon, and start getting to know people, and before long you'll wonder what you were worried about. In the meantime, unload to all your HG mates on here, we'll always listen and support you.

Hey SH, count yourself lucky. When I left my old site I got jack $hit! not even a good luck! I walked out with a box under my arm and nobody said a thing. At least you got a bottle of wine. I know i was only going for six months (8 months ago) but still not back at the old place.
I do have a consulation though.... my old staff want me back PDQ! but alass politices of the NHS, looks like I'm stuck for a while longer. You'll be fine in your new job, it will take a while to settle in but worth it in the end. Good luck in your new job.

Cheer up Seahorse, today is another day although I can quite appreciate how you feel. You are bound to be a bit nervous taking on something different. I'm sure it will all come right in the end. Find a mane and have a good old cry into it. Works wonders. Hugs.

Good luck Seahorse
Remember - unless they want the company to shut (LOL), they WOULD NOT have given the job to somebody that they didn't think COULD DO IT.
I was in a similar position a month ago - I couldn't afford to be self employed anymore and joined the big bad world of paid employment. A month ago on Sunday I was cacking it. I didn't want to go, and couldn't see how I was going to enjoy it. It wasn't a dream job, it wasn't even a job I'd wanted. It was just a job. With a monthly salary and paid holidays and some security.
When I got there, it was so very different from what I had been expecting - much more technical, in an area that I know nothing about, very busy and intense, and very very complicated. I left that first day with a head feeling full of cotton wool, and wondering what on earth I'd done.
A month later, I'm totally loving it. We are a small team, we get on great, my boss is just amazing. She won't even let us call her the boss, cos we are a team. She makes me drinks and is so fab.
I've got more money than I was initially offered, I can take time off when I need it, she sends me home early, and I'M LOVING IT.
There is no way that I would have taken the job if I'd known what it entailed, but now I'm in and doing - it's fab. I'm off to Europe training soon (although not too keen on that - i dont like travelling if I can't take control and can't see anybody letting me fly the plane), plus the itinerary is heaving - but my boss is so supportive, I'm going to do it and prove to myself I can do it too.
When I went for interview she saw my potential, and grasped it. (Something I couldn't see). Your bosses already know what you are capable of, and know that you will be great in your new role, so please don't stress too much about tomorrow.
Enjoy the extra money and all the perks, everything will be fine. Milliesmum is soooo right - you are moving away from what you know, and no matter what area that is, I don't care who you are EVERYBODY finds that scary.
(Although having a job you love can make you sad - I've actually missed being at work today!)
