My Dubarrys lasted 18 months then went kaput , in hindsight, really shouldn't have worn them for riding in. I still wore them though, till they were hanging off my feet ! I now have some harry hall long boots, different enough so people dont mistake them for Dubarry's or the cheapy fakes, but still look lovely for toffing about in

what's 'milling' mean?
I don't have dubarry's - the feed bill comes to too much to justify spending that on my own feet sadly. But I have a pair of the harry hall ones and like them lots - don't look like dubbary's though. I love the new ariat long boots with the buckle which have just come out and did you know they now do a 'wellie' you can ride in safely? Its about £55 and I do want a pair.

i love my dubarrys. they are so warm and comfy. i've ridden in them and really good. the company are good to. i've walked 10 miles(in one day with 1 half hour stop) and still had comfy feet at the end. i think milling means following hunt,yard,shows/events etc. i used to live wth some students(they shared the flat at the top of the house)who used to go charity shopping, they picked up some really good stuff, some odd stuff aswell but some good finds. dubarrys are a good investment,i'll hopefully have mine for several years to come x

I keep mine for best, take care of them because I am usually rough on boots and shoes! I actually keep them clean! I have the Clare ones and love them.

I like my Dubarry's but don't find them warm unless I have the furry socks in them. I've recently bought a pair of Tuffa Suffolks for winter and they are great - lined with fleece

I have Dubarrys and they look very smart - but the leather on one foot is starting to perish near the sole. Much prefer Ariats - they are far more comfortable if wearing all day they have a more cushioned sole. Thay are very good workhorses too - ideal for riding and leisure (it's the grassmere ones we have). The short lace up ones are also very good

I just bought the Dublin river boots and I love them, the fit is excellent and I'm sorry but at half the price of dubarrys i don't care if they are imitation! They are still leather and really comfy.

These comments come based on experience owning and using Dubarrys as well as lots of input from friends and family.
We haven't found anything warmer and more comfortable BUT despite religiously following the care guidelines (which includes no mucking out) we don't know of any that have worn well when worn as a 'yard' boot. By this I don't mean mucking out, but just handling the horses, yes getting wet and occassionally mucky. And, we really have followed the care guidelines.
So, the conclusion is that they are not the equestrian all-rounder they are recommended as.
That said, if you don't mind swapping into wellies at the operative moment, we thoroughly recommend.

They were never designed as equestrian boots, they were introduced as a yachting boot....

Im on my 2nd pair of Dublin boots....my first pair lasted ages and ages but unfortunately the internal sock comes out when you try to get your feet out of them now (the are old) which is a pain..... My sister bought me a new pair for Christmas/Birthday last year and I have only had them on a few times as getting my feet in these ones is proving rather difficult....the lining is pulling down as I put my feet in I am rather liking my Mountain horse boots atm.....the ones with elastic at the back...they are very comfy.......and always look smart especially now the leather is softening ;D and nice to ride in Love the look of the Harry hall ones and the Tuffa one look nice Not sure which will be my next purchase LOL , I have so many pairs of boots...... 3 Hawkins long leather riding boots, 2 pairs of wellies, 1 mountain horse protector, 1 Mountain horse (the long ones described above) 1x my old Dublin , 1x my new dublin boots... then myBearpaw sheepskin boots ( from USA) prrrrrrrrrrrrr Then theres all 'normal' footwear dotted about the bedroom too ;D Anyone tried ''DOLLY BOOTS''? saw them at HOYS a few years back they're supposed to be good for every day round the yard! www.dollyboots.co.uk/

First pair of Dubarrys had for about 8 months and wore them for everything, then walked through some long grass one day and ended up with wet feet! So called Dubarry UK, they said to send them to them, I gave them a clean and sent them.....a brand new pair was sent back! Again I wore them to death - then got different pair - Magellan and Mulloy ones (lovely) which after a few days sucked water up the soles, so again sent them to head office in Holland and got sent another pair! NO GORTEX boot is waterproof - only water resistant to a degree, I sold my dubarrys on ebay and got £160 for them! Which paid for my Le Chameau's (they are like slippers) got them from a place that I used to work at so got staff discount too! I have in theory been lucky with my footware - Im not a serial returner but when Ive paid over £200 for a pair or boots I expect them to 'do what they say on the tin'. I save my leather boots for best now, my advice would be to save your money, get a pair of some of the Dubarry copy types that are out for a fraction of the price. Or get a pair of wellies!

I've got the dublin boots too. I'd say they were nicer tbh. I don't like the heel on the dubarry's or the price. I do everything in my dublins from mucking out to riding and everyday wearing. If I give them a clean I can wear them in 'general' public and look smart but most of the time there caked in mud and doing there job as equestrian boots. I couldn't pay over £200 for a pair of boots to wear at the yard and get dirty just so I look the part
