Our little mare Bathleyhills Flashlight (AKA Bridget - Aklah Twilight Star x Thistledown Copper Lustre) gave us a surprise birth last night of a little bay filly!!!!!! She is incredibly early as some of the others on the forum and actually due 22nd March. She is the first foal by our own stallion Bathleyhills Chocolate Dream (AKA Dennis - Rohey Sparkling Maydream x Thursden Vallye Raphael) Anyway here she is, sorry not the best photos as had an interesting day completely and utterly - one of those you could actually write a book about LOL!!!!! ;D Bridget says she hadnt quite got round to a tidy up in preparation of foaling photos!!!!!!!   |

has anyone noticed that their foals born early in the year have a fluffier coat than ones born later?  ? how do they know its colder when theyre in their mummys tummy?? |

Thank you guys we are thrilled, I must just mention one of our other mares is still waiting, her foal was due last Monday!!!!!! So not all want to be early!!!! Although our mare due on the 2nd March looks very close now so not particularly early but I think will be sooner than the other mare!!!!!
Yes we find also the early born foals have woolley coats!!!!!!

You have a lovely filly. Hope the rest foal ok for you and the one that is over due soon has her foal. I've only ever bred one foal and she was about 5 weeks late!!
